Here are all the flashback edit shots from Episode 1. Unfortunately, there is no sound. I slowed the video down to 50% speed because some of the shots are incredibly short.
sometimes I’m reminded that there are still people who don’t know ao3 was literally created by incest shippers — and the site’s sole purpose is to 1. be completely against censorship and 2. host all kinds of dark, taboo fics that are banned on other platforms — and the first ever fic that was posted on ao3 was a fic about an incest ship from supernatural.
you are in the house that was created by freaks. for freaks (affectionate). every disgusting thing you can think of is rightfully allowed and welcomed on ao3, because they are exactly the reasons why ao3 was created in the first place.
ao3 was created because its creators got tired of censorship, they got tired of dark and taboo fics getting banned on pro-censorship platforms, and they wanted a place that was safe for ALL FICS THAT WERE DARK AND TABOO.
ao3’s main principle is being against censorship and being proship / profic.
there are some things in fiction that make me uncomfortable, but instead of shaming people who are just minding their own business and not harming anyone in real life, I choose to curate my own internet experience by blocking/muting what I don’t want to see. ao3 has excellent tagging system, so instead of being a bitch, use their tagging system properly and you won’t see the things you don’t want to see.
it’s your job to curate what you see. it’s not other people’s jobs or responsibilities to censor themselves for your personal comfort. the world does not revolve around you.
also you cannot censor “only the things you personally hate” without expecting everything else, that isn’t of conservative beliefs, to be censored too. because censorship is a slippery slope and a fascist tool. I promise you there are people who think “why do tags for queer love even exist on ao3? they’re grooming children”.
if you allow the things that you hate to be censored — because someone with enough power gets to control what other people can and cannot create/consume, it will not stop at the things that you hate.

What do you think — will Akasha drag Lestat away in episode 1 of season 4, or maybe around the middle of the season? I just remember that in the books, Akasha’s awakening was accompanied by disturbing dreams about the twins for many vampires. Also, even before Lestat’s concert, many vampire covens were destroyed by Akasha’s fire. In the show, the hints about her imminent awakening were very scarce and seemed to end in episode 3, after the tower in Toronto was destroyed. And I’m not even sure that was a manifestation of her power — it might have been the result of Lestat’s intense emotions. By the way, that was the first hint to us that Akasha wouldn’t just kill, but also wreak destruction. And if we imagine that Lestat’s emotions were the cause of the tower’s destruction, it’s quite possible that, after drinking even more of Akasha’s blood, he was the one who destroyed Montreal.
According to Rolin, that was a sign of Lestat's unstable mind (sorry).
As per when Akasha will drag Lestat away... my guess is by episode 2 latest.
There will be a LOT in the next season. But they already established a few corner points for the audience to care about, like Baby Jenks.
But yes, the dreams, the twins, the burning coven houses... those things have to happen at some point.
I mean, theoretically, they could skip the twins, and the dreams (like the movie did), but I sincerely hope they do not.
I always felt it was such nice foreshadowing that Grace had twins who were sensitive to Louis' state of being, for example. A little nod at what's to come.
And of course Lestat will need to be convinced (somehow) to do the concert after all.
So by episode 2, latest, is my guess. Possibly even at the end of episode 1.
I hope we can go a season without Louis being beaten or beheaded by someone

Jumping on that previous ask, I don't know what they will do with Louis in season 4, but I would absolutely love for him to call out Gab for what she did to Lestat, and for her part in causing this mess with Akasha. I definitely do not want Merrick to make Louis turn her like she did in the book.

I mean, "this" Merrick also did not use a spell on Louis (at least not so far), but then also, it would be YET another black woman dying then... next season we will already have Akasha meeting that fate (and I am low-key dreading who they might cast as Maharet and Mekare, ngl, because ... depending... that will be its very own fandom mess once more...)
But I doubt that this Merrick will become a vampire. Also, if the rumors of her maybe being in Mayfair Witches hold (which would be something I'd like!), then she definitely won't be, imho.
As per Louis calling Gabrielle out... this Louis might, yes. And yes, I'd love that, too.
I always found the dynamic they have in the later books fascinating, like, they both know that they are both someone Lestat loves... but they don't really interact much anymore. They just do it for Lestat. And I think THAT might be what the show is heading for them (indeed), and which fits very well imho for Louis to call her out while they're ... en-route maybe. After the concert.
I'm wondering if they shot more scenes with Humanstat and Babystat that they're planning to use in Season 4. I imagine we'll get more flashbacks to Lestat's life in Season 4. What do you think?
Mhhh, I wouldn't get my hopes up there, tbh. I don't think we'll go back to human Lestat for much.

My primary issue is with AMC.
This show is their winner right now, they should allow for 15 episodes. This part 1/2 is not how the writers want it either considering S1 IWTV and TVL end like they’re the mid point and not the finale (because they are!).
It’s so ridiculous because these actors/writers/crew are so willing and sincere but AMC has some stupid ass restriction around it.
even the fandom thinks they would’ve hugely benefitted making S1/2 1 15 episode season and this season and the next another 15 episode season, general audiences would EAT it up considering how brilliant and captivating the show is (literally every YT reaction including ep 7’s has been raving about how phenomenal this show is and how they all want more)
… so why the hell not???
I think that is the main question. And I also think that it might be a pure .... manger-and-money-driven-decision, more or less ignorant of the background of this show, and the "whys" for performance of the seasons so far.
We'll see how next season will shape up to be, because that will be quite telling, ultimately.
Do you think the show will introduce Rose? Part of me would love to see it, and part of me thinks there's already SO much story to pack into these ridiculously short seasons that it would be too much. I also feel like there wouldn't be much point including her in the show unless she's actually living with L&L and we're seeing a new version of a family dynamic play out there. And I have to assume they'd age her up and have her be a little girl. But then from a purely practical, logistical standpoint on the production side of things, I feel like adding a child to the cast brings such a set of requirements behind the scenes that I don't know if they'd do it with their constraints.
FULLY out of left field in regards to anything going on in the story right now; just curious what you think about that.
I mean, Rose is not a child for long (even in the books).
And given the fact that they changed Claudia's backstory already to match Rose's (when Louis rescues her), I feel like they are building to the modern day version of it all.
Claudia is the daughter which dies - Rose is the one who lives, and both Lestat and Louis save her, and I think that would be a very healing aspect of it all in the storyline.
Whether they will have the time for that is another question, BUT it could be part of the arc for next season, possibly, if woven into it all (for example her needing rescue in the first place due to Akasha's rampage or something like that?)
In any case I... hope we get to see her.
