You have to be a pretty big deal for NASA to name a space telescope after you, and that is certainly the case for Dr. Nancy Grace Roman — our Roman Space Telescope’s namesake. She’s sometimes called the “mother of Hubble,” but she’s really the mother of all space-based observatories and NASA science in general. As NASA’s first chief astronomer, Dr. Roman's vision and leadership supercharged space science and helped make NASA the world-class scientific institution it is today.

When I was a teenager writing fic, I remember finding out that one of my favorite authors was in her 50s and that just was SUCH a revelation for me!! What do you mean, 50 year olds can write fanfic?!? Does that mean I can write fics when I'm her age?? That's AWESOME! I seriously looked up to her so much. And now I'm 35 with a husband and kid, and I'm still writing fanfic and posting fandom content - and I have no plans of stopping!

I don’t want to sound like I am hating on younger people in fandom, but god, y’all need to stop it with the ageism. You don’t have to give up what you love once you’re an adult. Honestly, the belief that you have to is pretty bad. It sounds like it would make people afraid of aging. Granted, modern society is so very afraid of aging.

I think many of us go through stages when we are younger where we think we have to give up certain things because we are too "grown up" for them now.

But when you are actually grown up, you realize that is nonsense.

It also bothered me that Lestat only calls muse Louis to sing big bad wolf in his face to directly insult him...

But I guess it's my fault for creating expectations based on the first two seasons where Louis talked shit about Lestat all the time but it was obvious he still loved him.

Was it? Put yourself in Lestat's shoes.

Because Lestat believed Louis never loved him. The book made Lestat believe that Louis despised him and, according to Sam, it made Lestat feel like a foolish idiot for ever seeing his relationship with Louis as love, because of course Louis could never love the likes of him. It wasn't until Lestat was able to recontextualize everything at the long table after the events of Episode 6 that he realized yes, Louis had actually always loved him.

The show could've done a better job conveying that, imo. The damage to Lestat from the book wasn't made clear enough, but it was there. As I said, it made Lestat feel like everything he'd always felt about their love story was a lie, and he says it to himself at the long table —

Rots in a rotting robe in a rotting shack in the rotting city. A tragic crippled thing, playing a plank for a piano, waiting for a hug. He sits on a bench like a stupid idiot in a fog he mistakes for love.

He waited for Louis for decades. He sits on a bench like a stupid idiot in a fog he mistakes for love. That's how Lestat saw it. He was a "stupid idiot" for ever thinking it was love. He was foolish for ever believing Louis could love him.
