What I've had the displeasure of seeing for the last decade is that every year at least a few trans women take a look at literally anything (the queer community, political climates, media, fandom) and state a warning about how its trajectory is becoming more reactionary and hostile. This is then met with a wave of backlash where she is harassed and told she's wrong and dividing people. Then in less than two years it's clear that her assessment was dead on. Rinse and repeat.
