Next up we have my late girl Pickle! Pickle was a red eyed marten, and I got her when she was just over 3 months of age. Pickle was a very interesting rat, being quite confident in many ways, but also being quite sensitive and more prone to spooking than her sisters. Pickle was a very active rat who excelled at agility-based tricks, and in particular she really loved to weave! Pickle also really enjoyed playing with her cagemates, and for the first year of their life she and her sister Olive and Donut could often be found playfully wrestling before cuddling up for a nap together.

Unfortunately Pickle was not lucky with her health, and at 17 months old she developed a lump on her face below the ear. With the vets help we quickly determined this was a zymbals gland tumor, and we tried palliative care as those are unfortunately untreatable. Sadly Pickle went downhill quite fast, so I opted to humanely euthanize her - I do wish she had gotten more time with us, but I feel the short time she did have was very fulfilling and that she lived a good life, and that gives me solace.
