Important to note: when I say riding lessons, I'm only talking about a facility where you go, are assigned a horse, and are taught to ride, not about bringing your own horse to train.

I currently help out within a special needs lesson group and not all students are able to tack or groom, instead of having staff ready the horses we teach the guardian of the student to tack and groom so they can ready the horse. Of course staff lurks about in case they have questions but as a general we want the people who are riding/leading the horse to handle them in the stall too so they can get an idea of how the horse is for that day.

I also mostly focused on having them be the same base coat since something like a black varnish vs bay roan or bay varnish vs starberry roan didn't seem like it'd be fair. It's a small difference, but they matter!
