#fancy rats

They understand concepts of empathy and fairness and sharing and yet they choose to be huge brats because they thought about it (they’re one of the few animals with metacognition so they can do that) and decided they’d rather piss off their cagemates just because it’s funny.

Most of my rats have had literally nothing even slightly bad happen to them (save for my 1 rescue) so they think every mild inconvenience is torture (cage gets cleaned, nails get trimmed, poop gets taken away, not allowed to have infinite treats, not allowed to remove my fingernails, new baby sister, these are all the definition of suffering)

Ever wanted a human toddler that can’t speak and who’s covered in fur (or not, take your pick) and the size of a potato and who has teeth that can chew through metal and concrete and pretty much anything and who can jump 3 feet in the air and who has super sharp claws? Get rats (because you need at least 2)! Don’t want that? Get any other animal. Any other.

Anyways 10/10 animal I love them so much they’re my perfect baby princesses who can do no wrong
