Horse?

a lot of it comes from just drawing horses every day tbh. which ive been doing for? several years now? I've forgotten when i even started the daily thing because originally this wasnt supposed to be a daily art blog but 🤷

when you end up drawing the same thing every day you end up with a really good sense for how it works and how its going to move, the porportions etc.

and then you end up simplifying because you dont want to spend more than 5 minutes on a single artwork for your blog. but at the cost of never being able to draw a non simplified horse ever again (never been into realistic art though so maybe its lucky i do this sort of thing and not portraits)

this was drawn in 42 seconds and then colored in 5 minutes because if i run the timelapse too long it lags really bad so i just timed the lines

Fat Horse No. 17

It’s the year of the horse and I’ve always been a horse girl at heart, so I’m finally taking advantage of the excuse to fill the world with fat little horses! These felted friends are about the size (and shape!) of an apple, and if you happen to have any apples to share I’m sure they’d help you out! On the other end of the spectrum from the luxuriously long mane and tail, I wanted to try a classically decorated Percheron with the tied up bob tail.

It’s the year of the horse and I’ve always been a horse girl at heart, so I’m finally taking advantage of the excuse to fill the world with fat little horses! These felted friends are about the size (and shape!) of an apple, and if you happen to have any apples to share I’m sure they’d help you out! It just wouldn’t be an Irish Cob without the shaggy hair, so I worked out an extra luxurious mane and tail pattern for those who need a little more drama.
