A little side item. Made this in 2022 as a world-placement item in my character's universe.

Within Kawaii's reaper world, lies an academy for reapers. This would be the current logo or insignia for the campus. The Reaper Academy is female only with centuries of history and graduates whom are assigned humans on earth to counsel and guide into the afterlife as needed. Once a more barbaric system that has found itself restructured some in the last 10 or so years to be more passive and guiding than direct.

Doing a little redesigning of the tumblr and adding this drawing I hadn't added yet. It's from 2021 - i'm a little behind here.

Darket is a little Goth Kawaiichi with the human form. One of her enjoyed bands is Ashbury Heights and she dons a shirt noting one of her favorite songs by them. She's also a reaper academy student for clerical duties & preliminary teachings of reaper history.

Some budging from @arukoyankobiku got me to print out on separate sketchbook paper the design and tackle the coloring with the markers. 

Not bad in all honesty. Scanning presented a bit of a blown out result due to the ink being printer type and more reflective. Feet are not my strong point and shading is potentially iffy. None the less Kawaiichi #10 is in her element now. Well at least she’s yawning and probably tired, which for a shy little chi like her.. is fairly standard fare.

The second image which is still in inking stage only. Secretly scared to attempt coloring it with markers as I feel the Jag image didn’t turn out how I wanted. 

Can you tell I struggle with leg positioning and feet in this?  I like the fact I am trying to be more dynamic, in my own way, with experimenting on poses and angles. Also with fashions and details. 

Kawaiichi #10 (that’s her name... she never really got a formal name, just uses her Chi assignment number) is sleepy and yawning wearing her kind of cozy attire. Styled peekaboo sweater design and a skirt as it’s not super chilly out yet.  She’s also the more busty of human formed Kawaiichi’s and yet is a tad shy. She has a Pinterest she loves to poke around on - also a twitter she is more shy about posting on.

I had a late night random sketch session after work and created 2 sketches.  One was these which were intended for a Character instagram. Jag’s since grown impatient of my ability to keep up with her thoughts (and draw full color images for posts); thus creating a twitter.  However, she is deffo NSFW on her twitter as she isn’t big on censoring herself for others ears or eyes.

3 Days behind, but TADA!!  its... been a hot minute since a CelixDog n Cutesy birthday image.  Felt had to be done and then the Photoshop CS6 coloring via Mouse almost killed meh!! D:

Obviously each has their love focused in different directions. LOL  It’s been a while for them with a kinda on and off relationship. And that Cake looks SO YUMMY!!!

This one took some doing and was the 2nd drawn, yet third ( and most likely final) finished.  One of the more difficult things to draw is hands and BOY did I struggle here.   Otherwise, here we have Kawaii in a less seen hair in ponytail look as she shows off her more eerie trait; her glowing pink eyes.  First thing you will ever see of her in the dark and hopefully not the last thing.  Kawaii is here in a more sporty warm weather outfit holding one of her mainstay choices of weapon.  A Japanese style dagger that has more than likely been used in the past.  Her skirt is also not common to see as she tends to be more of a tomboy... tho I am sure she'd enjoy this shirt just for the Kanji alone which translates to reaper or God of Death.  I'd just recommend you don't piss her off. :>

Just a random Kawaiichi - which I honestly am novice at drawing compared to Janna.  But this Kawaiichi salutes and help celebrate the day of remembrance.

While May is almost over; I have about 2 sketches yet to finalize to make my total for this year’s challenge at 4!! And that is 4 more drawing in a year than some years in the past.  So much ups!

#tbt before bed as I was digging thru totes for things in the basement.

My Full Time Job has been really working hard to make things tiring and my moods less stellar. Yet this last week, between the dates of Feb 17th to the 21st, my mind has been buzzing.  Mostly starting around mid-week as I watched a few different videos on YouTube (my chill space) and Jag started poking in my mind of different situations.

I tweeted a little question about being enveloped in your minds world; about having to fully immerse yourself into a world in your mind to be able to piece together stories or characters.  For me - more and more I find that my mind will take things it sees and hears, processes it, and molds it into something in this world I created for my characters I try to draw or do anything with.   Talking with @arukoyankobiku​ online on the weekend tends to not help clam these as I flood into more details of it just trying to explain the mess I already am trying to clean up.

Currently the character is Jag; a rock star metal artist and model who has possibly one of the most dramatic, dynamic, and disturbingly dark stories out there today.  And that character came to mind as I watched music videos including that of a Russian based band called “Slot”.  Jag’s hyper controlled bi-polar’esque mindset brings double the opportunities of her life and how she operates it.  Most of this last week was of her singing and bits of her down time.

After chatting with the prior mentioned BFF, dubbed JJ, I feel I just added more mess than trying to sort it out verbally/written form to her and added so much more in the process.  Now tonight as I rushed to get my bills done up and all before bed; I YouTube white noised until a video made comment of makeup and I was now stuck finishing bookkeeping while wondering just how much makeup does Jag do.  Granted in any form of normalcy - she wouldn't be able to do so as she is designed as a cartoon style illustrated character.  The basic term I started to step aback from being “ furry”.  So one is left then to wonder if she would use Makeup and if so...  the assumption she probably knows what she’s doing with it.

I felt weird this evening and decided to try and has out something.  Would up tweeting the progress a bit due to loneliness or boredom... dunno which yet.

Tried a few new things including ruled lines for shading, messing around with Pinterest references, and using my Grandmother’s old Light-box. Tried my new Ohuhu Markers I bought over a year ago. >.<

This drawing is an embodiment of my own personal view on 2019.  Been not the best year for me; hoping 2020 will be better.

Silverspirit is here in her rainbow print tank and distressed jeans giving us her view as well.  She’s had a tad of a upgrade in her design since the last time she was drawn ( 2011?) and that’s seen in her hair being styled a little differently.  You see her star tattoo on the side of her stomach which once was seen in old photos.  She also has since gotten a belly button piercing with a ring and obviously her figure is a nit more shaped over the years of her growing up. 

Pushing yet another post of support to someone I have never met.  :) This one is special as it was so random and at the end of the day made me realize that the state I live in/area I live in ( Southern Wisconsin) is actually a sneaky space of Geek, Artist, and Anthro culture.

Here’s the Breakdown:

I go to the Brookefield, WI Half Price Books to sell the last 2 fabric bags of books I will be selling from my grandmother’s collection - the rest I will most likely sell during a larger rummage sale; sorry got off topic already.

Upon checking in at the selling desk and now to do the wonder around aimlessly until your name is called - I peek around the back “Clearance” area near the restrooms to find a lil bulletin board with some Poster about a sports charity and some random cheapy seat sports event tickets.  Also on the board was some black business cards with “SteamTheif” and one turned around with a lil Anthro Deer dude in hiking duds. 

Being the closet artist I am and intrigued by the fact someone has furry propaganda sitting around in public - let alone a bookstore - I grab a card while some lady talks on her cell phone near by rather loudly and continue my wondering until my name is called.

Make my way out the store and mental note to check into this website on the card when I get home.

Welcome Back Home:

I get home and pull up the site, http://www.steamthief.com.  It is nicely made, yet more simple.  Gives me tumblr vibes in a way.  Like they have a tumblr template or wordpress enabled tumblr on a domain.  But the art is both nice and varied.

There is Kanji on the home page which peaks my inner otaku to wonder if this artist has Asian heritage or just wanted some anime on their space.  The socials and ways to support and front and center and overall the site doesn’t play around or get too deep into itself.  Quite the Get In and Get Out kinda design offering your the best options without too much fluff.

This artist, whom based on the About page is a 25yo Female living in Wisconsin ( per the site info at time of posting), does both 2D illustration and Animation as well as starting backgrounds work based on the art section.  I highly recommend checking out the Animated Happy Dino. :D

They have a commissions queue that looks empty at the moment and prices seem to reflect the artist’s confidence in their art skills.  They have a fairly well thought out TOS layout and prices are not outrageous by any means. 

This artist also has conventions they visit.  This is what really made me sit back and go “ wow...”.  Because I did not expect Wisconsin to be very keen on conventions for geek or Anima items.  Yet this artist is lined up or hoping to attend at least 4-5 this coming year.  When I looked at each con’s website... I found it amazing they are based within the Milwaukee, Brookfield, and Wisconsin Dells areas.

Was interesting to see - especially as one of the YouTube artists I follow, AmaLee, was a guest at this past years’ Daisho Con.

TLDR;

7 CHARACTERS OF THE WEEK - Designing A Family From Days:: Kasey Golden

Which day of the week do you see yourself as? 

One of the artist YouTube creators’ I’m subbed to takes on the task of a 7 Days of the Week Family characterization. Digital illustration in a very unique and fun art style while she walks you through her thought process as she tosses out each character’s possible backstory.

Click and watch, support her and her channel thru your view of her video and her other supplemental income options found in her video description as well. 

It may seem strange I am tossing myself into sharing these videos and looking like I am selling their content to you, but honestly I just enjoy watching these videos I share and I believe all artists and creators offer so much to society and the artists tend to find their craft therapeutic.  Some also utilize this as their income source and I would rather support a artist creator than watch them and their vision fade away cuz the rent money wasn’t there.

Another @tbf for the heck of it.  2015 second such image of this character whom came from a random night at work ( I work in a factory setting which at the time I was driving forklifts and around Steel Stamping Presses) imagining a Kawaiichi with human form powers and working on such press.  Something about a smaller, yet strong little Kawaiichi human girly covered head to toe in black oil and dirt all over her and her uniform as she works away the shift.

In time she was named Pumpkin Chi, as she is a bit of a coffee snob and loves anything pumpkin flavored. She soon after was developed to have a big affection to anime and Japan and became an otaku who even does Cosplay.

Here she was cosplaying as Black Rock Shooter while sitting at the convention with her St*rbucks Coffee and Laptop editing most likely a YouTube Video.  Why a YouTube video?  Cuz she even does YouTube on the side.  Granted she still sees our world very differently and rarely see’s hate as most humans would.  She advocate against it rather often and her Videos range from her obsessions, sit down talks, and her views in which even her own body and form are not considered as taboo to her as it is to the world.

Quite the well rounded little kawaiichi whom strangely powered through my mind adding her own general backstory and decisions in life, frankly out of nowhere.  Now days she is quite busy and lives with her human boyfriend (also apart of her backstory) while visiting the Kosen home where her sisters still reside.
