Commander Pelia is a Lanthanite, which makes her very similar to humans, except for her life span, Commander Pelia is over 5,000 years old, something that is very normal for Lanthanites. She brings a bit of whimsy to the Enterprise, often referred to as a "space hippie", intelligent, whimsical, chaotic and nonchalant, often surprising her crew members with her laid back way of doing things. Commander Pelia is also a bit of a hoarder, having collected many trinkets over her very long life.

Played to perfection by legendary actress Carol Kane, Commander Pelia is one of the best Star Trek characters in a very long time.

HOARDER

This particular shed hasn't been touched since my father passed away. It's the last untidied building down there (although I will admit that there are several that are only half cleaned out). The actual cleaning process was not very exciting. The dusty mess of tools, hardware, rusty junk, bits of wood, and farm chemicals is. sigh. Familiar.

Previously, the oddest thing in there was an elderly saxophone (no one in my whole extended family ever played a saxophone. WHERE did it come from). However, during the boys' last party, a friend asked if he could have it, so that got rehomed. Today the strangest thing I found was . . a canonball? Well, it was round. Metal. Heavy as heck. Had a patinaed-brass vibe, though, that didn't seem canonballish.

I hefted it (oof!) and took it outside to show Son. He hefted it thoughtfully, and suggested maybe a shotput? I looked it up; shots can be brass. Neither of those things would make sense to be in a farm shed, but. My father. The saxophone certainly didn't make sense either.

We only cleared out enough to fill the dumpster 3/4 full; we need to leave enough room in there for household trash and pickup isn't til next Monday. However, if we do a bit each week, we will get 'er done.
