the need to talk about the characters vs the fear that all of my analysis is just empty prose and surface level understanding

Alan presented himself as Jesse's brother in North Star. He even greeted her with the exact line that Dylan greets her with. Obviously he's doing this to escape, but, it's strange that he inserted himself firmly in Dylan's position. Dylan was more of a plot device than anything, and we know that his words throughout the game were influenced by the Hiss—an entity that we also know Alan influenced, giving it words that it didn't have before. We know that Alan can't create things that don't already exist, but (this is a far-off theory that a lot of people will hate) I wonder if it's possible that Alan may have moved events around so that Dylan was created, making him 'fictional' in the same sense Alex Casey is. I don't want to call Dylan a meat-puppet, but the implications of a self-aware self-insert...

stop fucking using the word psychotic to describe bad behaviour and violence already god fucking damn it

oh my god i'm so tired psychotic does not mean violent it does not mean angry or erratic. it refers to a person suffering from psychosis, a loss of touch with reality that includes hallucinations and/or delusions. psychotic people are not inherently violent and y'all need to understand how much stigma you create when you again and again incorrectly use the word psychotic without even thinking about it

It’s important that everyone understand that, when I say that I “like” a villainous character, what I in fact mean is that I consider them to be both cool and morally praiseworthy, as well as correct in their aims and methods and worthy of emulation by people in the real world. Just in case there was any ambiguity on this point.

I further elaborate that I consider them to be An Excellent Role-Model for Impressionable Children.

I almost neglected to mention that they are a worthy sexual partner and that I am aroused by everything that they do.
