The gameplay is all right, a bit of a generic third person shooter, and it was a bit too hard for me, as someone who isnât used to the genre (and also was playing on a controller), so i ended up turning on a bunch of the assist features to make it slightly easier.
The lore started as a bunch of SCP knockoffs, but didnât seem to get the spirit of why SCP worked at first. Eventually it started to hone in on the vibe, like with the Ashtray, Safe, X-Ray Lightbox, etcâŠ
My main gripe with the game is that it doesnât feel like Iâm actually using the paranormal objects I collect. It felt like I was absorbing them and playing a generic psychic superhero with a gun. It was fun, it just didnât fit the vibe the lore was going for. Given the premise, I was sort of expecting to be messing with forces far beyond my understanding.
Of course. None of that matters. Not a single opinion I have about the quality of the game matters. There was an annoying and consistant texture bug where text and logos on objects wouldnât display correctly, appearing as a blurred, muddled mess. This got bad enough that one of the puzzles that required a clue from several whiteboards, I just couldnât do. I found a temporary solution, but I looked it up later and the only real solution is to mod the game.
And then thereâs the crashing. Oh my god. This game lag spiked and crashed so much even on the lowest graphics settings.
Iâm told the console version is good. But this game is five years old, and for it to be this unplayable on modern hardware and Remedy Entertainment hasnât pushed a patch or update that fixes it. To me, thatâs unacceptable.

I have some Emily Pope head canons, some of which I cannot explain but they just feel rightđđââïž:
ă»Emily likes ethnic music, among classical (which is obvious at least for me), and other foreign genres/ songs/ bands (like Deep Forest, Iraq shoegaze for example)
ă»Emily is a vegan
ă»she knows exactly how her body works (like signs of nutrition deficiency, sleep, energy etc)
ă»Emily speaks more than one language (English being her mother tongue, but she knowing Arabic and Mandarin somehow makes perfect sense to me)
ă»she knows the Navier-Stokes equations by heart
ă»she only drinks water and rarely some coffee since coffee has proved to boost immune system
ă»her favourite sport is running; 1) it is extremely healthy for your cardio-vascular system, 2) it is lowkey meditative, 3) you can listen to podcasts while doing it (note that i fucking hate runningđč)
Control is repetitive, frustrating, and overall exhausting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It may have some VERY cool ideas here and there, especially world-building material, but GOD, this is NOT rewarding enough!!1

Summary:
Jesse Faden hunched forward, elbows on her knees, head in her hands, foot tapping restlessly against the cold, gray stone of the cell she was currently being held in.
Sheâd fucked up.
The worst part was, sheâd actually been doing the right thing, but there was a difference between doing what was right and following the rules, and Jesse had broken the biggest rule there was.

Playing a bit of catch up here since the fic was only ever supposed to have two parts and I kept telling myself I would post to Tumblr when I finished it. Buuuut I keep increasing my projected number of chapters so I figured I should just do the damn thing already.
