to eliminate a lot of anticipated “it depends on…” comments: you don’t know this child. i won’t designate a particular relationship the parent has to you, just imagine the personified concept of “someone very close to you”. if it depends on who they are (like you would say yes for a friend’s kid but not your cousin) assume they are a part of the group you’d say yes for. you do not know anything about the kid’s personality but you know that you care for the person who raised them and can assume they’re a fairly average child save for the fact that they just lost their parents tragically. the child can be any age from 0-17. since you will be fostering them, you will probably get an allowance from the government but you won’t get any assistance beyond what a regular foster family in your area gets.
