it must suck to do an assassinate and have everyone cheering you on and hyping you up cuz you can’t tell anyone you did it. you have to keep that information to yourself.
SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!
I know that twink was getting passed around the mines like a blunt I know it in my soul.
Once upon a time, in the heart of a dark and rainy night, a creature appeared at an abbey, climbing through a window to into the room where the abbess was writing notes. It was a wretched beast, not quite human but neither did it resemble any animal that the abbess could name. It was dripping wet, with scarred skin and odd patches of thin, sparse fur, long cracked claws that scraped the stone floor, and sharp teeth so haphazardly scattered that it was hard to say whether there were two rows of teeth or one.
"What do you want, creature?" the abbess asked it calmly.
"I want to become a nun", the creature said. And there was no rule in the books that the abbess could remember that would prohibit a strange beast from becoming a nun, if it so desired. So, the beast was accepted into the abbey, and it took to life in the order as naturally as a shepherd dog to herding. She was a meticulous beast, first to wake and rise at dawn, neat and tidy with all tools and tasks she was given, dutiful and devout in all things.
No nun nor novice dared to question the creature's right to be there after the first time the she demonstrated that her teeth are not merely for decoration, and then apologised to the novice who had tried. The beast even graciously offered to mend the habit she had torn. After the incident, she was never bothered again. A handful of other postulants, novices and even a few of the nuns flocked to her, knowing that the creature would not allow anybody to be mistreated in her presence.
Watching the creature wolfishly lope across the abbey courtyard, with her ill-fitting, haphazardly placed cowl flopping as she went, the abbess contemplated the strange being. Despite of her sloppy, haphazard appearance, the beast really did have great potential to become a nun. A being so gentle and friendly could have done well just about anywhere, as would anyone so devout, but what made the creature such a good fit for monastic life was her love of routine. Waking up each morning at the same time, performing the same tasks and duties at the same time, the beast was not only tireless in her work, but actively delighted in regular routines. Which was why the abbey was such a good place for her, and she would one day make an excellent nun.
She was, without a doubt, a creature of habit.
‘Caper in the Castro’ was thought to be long lost.
Caper in the Castro is a legendary video game, not because legions of die-hard fans continue to play it, but because it was thought to be lost forever. Now, what is largely considered to be the first LGBTQ-focused video game (it was released in 1989) is on the Internet Archive for anybody to play.
The game is a noir point-and-click that puts the player in the (gum)shoes of a private detective named Tracker McDyke who is, in case you couldn’t guess by the name, a lesbian. McDyke must unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of Tessy LaFemme, a transgender woman, in San Francisco’s Castro district, an historically gay neighbourhood.
OOOOOHhh!
The game was released as charityware – freely, with a strong request to give a donation an AIDS Charity of their choice. I’d like to push towards still following that and donating, if you’re able.
(And you might also want to donate to the Internet Archive, who is hosting it now, while you’re at it – they’re in the middle of a donation drive, and could use your support.)

The commitment to the bit! The t-shirt that names the over-the-counter pain killer this man will have to take after this Oscar-winning performance!
"Ok, ma'am that'll be $226.03."
I take my wallet out of my pocket and unfold it. It is empty other than a single moth that lazily flies out. The moth lands on the tap point of the card reader. There's a beat, and my payment is processed. The moth flies back into my wallet and I put it back in my pocket.
A brief moment of rationality from the bird place.

you will live and you will say the wrong things and make mistakes and people will love you anyways.
i made this post because i've got so many friends that think saying something wrong in a conversation is the end of the world. it isn't. you'll be okay. you don't have to be embarrassed about every little thing. you are alive and doing things and speaking to people. you will make mistakes and you will live.

Fun Fact, legalizing ADUs and multi family housing on single family zoned lots will not led to you living in the Kowloon Walled city, densifying a city doesn't necessarily mean living like "sardines"
Like this is seriously a pet peave of mine, once I said that zoning reform is a good thing and someone came in and said they opposed it because they liked living in a less dense setting which is fine, but I am not saying it needs to be the East Village of New York with 40,000 people per sq.mi. I am saying that we should make it legal build this instead of a single family house.
Like tell me how your quality of life will in any way be harmed by a quadplex across the street instead of a single family house, that's right, it won't. Because every debate we have about the design of our urban spaces goes back to misconceptions, misunderstandings and classism. You don't want to have a less dense neighborhood because it affects you personally, you don't want density because you associate multifamily dwellings with the poor
I have heard this called the "missing middle."
That's actually correct low rise apartment buildings, ADUs, Quadplexes, Duplexes, Rowhomes and other forms of multifamily and dense housing options are known in planning circles as the missing middle of housing density because of how they are a middle between Single Family Houses and High rise Apartments in terms of density, that middle ground is important as it keeps cities affordable, walkable and dense at a human scale
Something huge I'd like to add here is, Having a huge amount of family who have owned, currently own, or are renting single family homes, I've found a reason many of them cite for wanting to prevent the return of multi family homes, and that I find cited a ton of other places. That being that, "Oh but if multi family homes become common, There's gonna be less space for yards", "Oh but if there's taller buildings like that someone might see into my back yard", "Oh but they might be poorer, I don't want my stuff getting stolen", "Yeah but, are they going to be **high quality neighbors**".
It constantly boils down to classism, racism, And a belief that their yards and pristine neighborhood of cookie cutter homes goes untouched.
Similarly, when I bring up walkability, a lot of people, In person and online talk about how that sounds like it would make streets crowded, or how busses and public transport are dirty, how they like having air conditioning and a radio they control across every second of their lives, How everyone should just get a car because bike lanes make driving harder, How the sidewalks are in the way of on street parking, How walkability is a nuisance and the bus stop is in the way, How "Oh this road should be bigger so I can get to Walmart, We should tear through this park, or this small business, or this low income neighborhood-", etcetera, etcetera, you get the idea.
It just feels like in America, it isn't about if the other people or their comforts actually effect your quality of life, so long as you think It might, that appears to be enough.
It's utterly infuriating. (sorry for the long post)
