I finally caved

The Riverlands

Barbute helmet, kinda three pronged for the Trident

Scale mail, pretty self explanatory lol :)

Earl of Pembroke inspired armor, wavy so watery

For the costuming proper, Roslin's torque is meant to evoke the Twins

The Westerlands

Falling buffet helmet, they can get really gaudy so it seems very fitting

Greenwich armor, see above lol

Codpiece! If anyone other than the Baratheons are going full codpiece, it's the Lannisters. The guilded everything house is going big, I think

Lots of braids for feminine hairstyles for above reasons, but also to seem crown-ish

The Reach

Frogmouth helmet. This is a tourney helmet, but when Catelyn say Renly's army in aCoK, she thinks of them as tourney knights, so yeah, that's kind of the broad vibe of the armor overall. Also I forgot to write down what the style of armor this is called in my notes! Don't worry about it

Hairnet for Margery, seems fitting with their involvement with the whole Purple Wedding hairnet plot

Fun big feathery hats!

Lighter, looser fabric, less layers, but very richly patterned. Kind of a more subtle wealth

The North

Great helm, my association with them is primarily Templars, so instead of a Templar's cross, a wierwood

Simplest armor of the group, some plating, a mail hauberk, large tabard

No spurs, the North tends not to have knights, and knights in the books and also real like I guess are associated with "getting your spurs"

Loosely drawing from Norse and some Innuit clothing, but frankly the North was the clothing I wasn't looking at specific references for and was just vibing out (I was doodling in my script during a theatre rehearsal and wasn't allowed to and liked what I drew is really what that means)

I like to imagine the North has a whole beading culture instead of the gemstones and such. It just seems like a fun little quirk

Dorne

Paseki helmet. The face isn't meant to be reminiscent of anything so ignore that hehe

Brigandine with mirror plates. Lightweight in line with the constraints of the temperature and the Dornish war strategy that prioritizes agility and not direct conflict when possible

Listen okay I like sashes. That's why the sashes are there that's the whole reason. Same with the little hat

Hair short and out of the face because again, very hot

Loose, flowy fabrics easy to tie back (with a sash dare I say) as needed

The Crownlands

Helmet is a mix of a Hellenic helm and the Sutton Hoo helmet to evoke Targaryen (read: ancient) roots. Also false faces

Pauldrons, scale male, gauntlets--really the whole thing is meant to evoke a Byzantine (read: Targaryen) style all together

That being said the pointy plate shoes are just there because I like them. I love Fantasy baby!

Metal plate in the middle of the chest would presumably have the ruling house's sigil or a crown or something based on Goldcloaks/Kingsgaurd that sort of thing

No individual clothes for Crownlands. For now... (I'm going to do Targ style later)

The Iron Islands

No set armor, one imagines they'd just be paying the iron price for all their stuff ("but Victarion is said to be--" I don't like him and am ignoring all that)

Clothes are a mix between Vikingrs/Norse and pirates. Sashes have a purpose this time

Beading like The North. Did they make them on their own like the North does? Iron price? Yes to both

Beyond the Wall

Also no set armor for similar reasons, but I'd imagine something like laminer armor

There's only so much one can do with cold clothing. The big difference is that their clothing isn't dyed (I know too much about Medieval dying practices to think the Wildlings have a dedicated dye operation

Bone and clay jewelry. Again Northern beading! It's fun!

Hats are Phrygian caps but like. Wintery

The Vale

Guys I'm going to be so honest. A lot of my Vale stuff is jokes

Like it's a Byzantine style helmet but I like the idea of big spike pointing up. Also a literal chainmail vail

The pointing thing is also why Lysa has that hat

Dujeong-gap armor because one imagines wearing very heavy plate would make one less stable and apt to fall. This seems dangerous

The Stormlands

Kasten-brust style armor

Bascinet helmet, with horns here because I love me some Baratheons :)

No visible codpiece but imagine...

Robert probably have a really visible one
