Why does “falling in love” have pretty much exclusively romantic connotations it’s such a good phrase. I’ve fallen in love with every single one of my friends
This was such a smart post to make because every day I get to see people declaring their love for their friends in the tags. Such a simple but sweet “restoring faith in humanity” kind of thing. We’re all just little creatures who love our buddies <3
Alright so this post has gotten over 5,000 notes in a month and I think that means the consensus is that everyone loves their friends and you should tell them
let him speak….
First time posting on here…hello 👋

I just love drawing him as the most obnoxious dandy manwhore
Also bring back query and echo into the mainstream and for the love of god make them muscle mommy goons
I don't have trauma, I love being a vampire. The Vampire Lestat 3.01 "Detroit"
What is it about Shane that you love and were drawn to? He is hyper competent at this one thing. He’s stereotypically masculine in a lot of regards. He’s a kind person, and he’s so overtly Canadian. He’s harboring something that he thinks is a career-ending secret because he just doesn’t have the emotional maturity or societal maturity to sort of understand what his own queerness means. To him, it’s most likely detrimental, which is the wrong assumption to some degree, but it shatters his own idea of what his masculinity is, or at least it cripples it. And yet, he still never harms a fly. (via The Hollywood Reporter)
↳ hudcon week 2026, day four: favourite quote
I have...Svetlana. She loves me. And I love her.
I cannot stand the parodies of modern major general, they're overdone and simply not as good as the original. They've done them about everything, whatever topic, big or small.
And when i notice one of them my eyes will always start to roll.
The diction's always slurry when they rush the complicated words, and adding many fricatives will turn it so cacophonous. The slanted rhymes are silly and they keep just making more and more, please someone stop the parodies of modern major general.
The scanning of the lyrics in the meter is unbearable, they emphazise the syllables in ways that are untenable, in short in matters musical, prosodic and ephemeral, i cannot stand the parodies of modern major general!
I had to read this twice before I got it.

Heated Rivalry Week 2026 | Day 5: Favorite Character
↳ Ilya Rozanov + being a sassy, chaotic, rage-baiting, dramatic bicon
tonight I’m hurting my feelings thinking about how one of the first things Ilya says to shane after telling him about his mother’s suicide is I don’t want you to think she was weak. it kills me. shane’s obviously not sitting there judging ilya’s mother as weak! it’s so clear that ilya’s talking to someone else in that moment, speaking aloud the words he could never say to his father. ilya as a child in his father’s house, listening to his father lay into to his mother the way he does to ilya in sochi. too young and powerless to speak up for her or step in between them. you’re weak you’re contemptible you’re defective. how are you not ashamed? aghh it hurts my heart. the abandoned child still defending her memory. still guarding her from anyone who might judge her too harshly or try to pick her apart. she wasn’t weak. she was so funny and beautiful. I don’t want you to think she was weak.
There were no nice men in Montreal?
Controversial opinion but I do not think Dev Patel would be a good Heathcliff. His aura is too friendly. His vibes are too fresh. He is a great actor but he can’t control the fact he has the sweetest eyes I have ever seen on a human being. It was what made him an excellent Gawain, even when his character was being awful, his natural charisma made him impossible to truly despise. We need a true embittered brooder for Heathcliff.
#I still maintain he would be the Jonathan Harker of all time though
He just looks like he wants to sell some real estate, incredibly naively.
please do not separate them

The kids on TikTok think that just because he was a classic country singer, Johnny Cash was conservative??? My babies he covered a Nine Inch Nails song in his seventies.
Classic country singers (the majority of which came from poor roots) were always talking about how much The Man sucked because they were taking money from poor rural folk. You’re gonna tell me that’s conservative?? Get outta here.
And somehow on the opposite side of the scale with the same exact opinion the conservative kids say “I like the old country music, because there’s no politics to it” Woodie Guthrie’s got a “this machine kills fascists” sticker on his guitar? You think there’s no politics in 9 to 5 or Folsom Prison Blues?!
For anyone confused there was a sudden and dramatic shift in the country music genre. It used to be a genre fixated on the experiences of people. Lived or common experiences that resonated with the common people. It was music that you listened to and it thrummed in tune to your soul because you had lived it yourself. And a lot of that was about ordinary people getting ground up in the gears of society.
The hyper patriotism, beer, and trucks chimera we have now didn't show up until after 9/11 and the world is lesser for it
Allow me to post the entire lyrics to the Johnny Cash song "Man in Black", released in nineteen goddamn seventy-one and written about why he always wore black onstage:
Well, you wonder why I always dress in black
Why you never see bright colors on my back
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on
I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime
But is there because he's a victim of the times
I wear the black for those who've never read
Or listened to the words that Jesus said
About the road to happiness through love and charity
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me
Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back
Up front there ought to be a man in black
I wear it for the sick and lonely old
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men
And I wear it for the thousands who have died
Believin' that the Lord was on their side
I wear it for another hundred-thousand who have died
Believin' that we all were on their side
Well, there's things that never will be right, I know
And things need changin' everywhere you go
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right
You'll never see me wear a suit of white
Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day
And tell the world that everything's okay
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back
'Til things are brighter, I'm the man in black
That right there is an anti-war, anti-bigot, anti-mass-incarceration, anti-war-on-drugs (Cash was an addict in various stages of recovery who was pissed as hell about how this country treats people with substance issues), eat-the-rich protest song. And it was arguably his signature song, his personal manifesto. Notice that even the Jesus reference, which today would be a signal that the song is about to drop some racist dogwhistles, segues immediately into a line about "the road to happiness through love and charity". As in "Motherfucker, our shared god said love thy neighbor and care for the poor and the outsider, and we both know he didn't fucking stutter." He's throwing shade at self-described Christians who use his religion as a cudgel to beat people with.
Johnny Cash wasn't a conservative. I'm pretty sure if he were alive and in reasonably good health today, he'd knock Jason Aldean's teeth out (or, failing that, write a song so devastatingly memetic about how much Aldean sucks that Aldean would never work in music again).
Johnny Cash was punk rock. He just happened to be punk rock in the body of a country singer.
Let me also just say that it's not "Country Music Then and Now", it's "The Songs that Got Pushed On the Radio to Push a Certain Agenda during a Certain Time Period". Country is not a monolith. See The Dixie Chicks vs Bush. Country is resilient. It is of the people. Some of those people were shitheads who went on to vote for trump. Some of those people are fighting to flip red states blue.
Present day country isnt all Murica Fuck Yeah! One of my favorites is this bop from Maddie and Tae, Girl in a Country Song
Please watch the video it's perfection :*
You can't tell me that song is not political. It is straight up calling out misogynistic bullshit. There is a goddamned button labeled "Gender Role Reversal" in the music video. (And also bless that all three boys have such varied body types. The girls are all cookie cutter industry standard hot but it's a fucking start).
So yeah. If you dipped out of country music when it went all Red White and Beat Your Ass Black and Blue, please dip back in and see what's up
