I was on acid the first time I read this chapter and the stress stayed in my body for 3 days
On what part of your body is your biggest scar?
head
torso
arms/hands
legs/feet
a different part of my body
I have 0 scars
depression is over itās done it is obliterated look at this fucking shirt i found at the thrift near my house
i need you guys to know that when i brought this home my mom was like WHAT is THAT. well i think youāre the only person on earth who would wear that, good that you found it
i show her this post every time it hits another thousand note milestone. she thinks weāre all ridiculous but no longer underestimates the Gay Desire For A Fun Shirt
i think the reason why (imo) jax works well as a "cautionary tale" type of character is because it's not about her transness but about her behavior and decisions. yes, lots of queer characters over the years have had tragic endings where they kill themselves because they're queer, and regardless of how realistic it might be, it can feel equivalent to saying "a life being queer isnt worth living."
but the cautionary tale of jax is not about being trans, it's about not letting yourself be happy and keeping everything bottled up inside. it's not saying that being trans will lead you to kill yourself, it's saying that repressing your trans identity and pushing everyone who tries to help you away and self-sabotaging will lead you to kill yourself.
while it's tragic yes, i think it's a very poignant message that really emphasizes how important it is that trans people are able to be themselves. unlike other trans characters who are transitioning/have transitioned and die (almost like a "punishment), jax dies WITHOUT transitioning which to me only serves to show how important transitioning can be for one's happiness.
on a personal note, it gives me a similar feeling to i saw the tv glow, where the story ends off on a pretty depressing note (though still a bit more hopeful lol) with the main character having lived decades of life repressing her true self and never transitioning. i remember i cried so hard after i first watched ISTTG and was so personally moved that i immediately resolved to finally start trying to transition and think about telling my family. it hurt to watch but in a way that was almost invigorating, immediately making me want to take action in my life so i didnt have to go through that kind of experience.
despite the tragedy of jax's ending, i think it will do something similar for a lot of people. which is the point of a "cautionary tale" type of story, after all - hopefully those who are in a similar situation to jax will feel inspired to take action in their own lives as to not end up like her. i know i would've if i had seen the finale before i'd started my own transition.

Iām probably gonna get shit for this but in my experience at least most of Jaxās comments about Zoobleās genderqueerness are actually community in-jokes. It obviously bothers them at first but then thereās a pretty noticeable shift to āhey wait a minute, what were YOU doing at the Devilās sacrament?ā
Cishet people are uncreative as fuck, itās always snowflake this, blue hair and pronouns that. The only people Iāve ever heard joke about queer people being bartenders and tattoo artists are other queer people.
there are so many joker themed cars. like I saw the one from Gamer Changer and thought it was one from my own town but no we just have two additional joker cars in my town to add to the insurmountable quantity there must be on the west coast alone
the mental labyrinth of the united states spawns joker car men the same way that moisture allows mold to grow
what does it say about america if Ive heard tales of a femme with a whole thigh joaquin phoenix joker tattoo
free use? *smirks snartly* so naive. you know nothing in this damned society is really free...
can't look up what snartly means because i don't have a dictionary account
A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previou
Letās fucking go
This is HUGE.
1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.
2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.
3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."
4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.
TL;DR Google reeeeeally stepped in it this time.
