really fond of humans just from an appearance standpoint. the long legs. the manes of hair that can come in practically any colour and texture. those crazy high-contrast eyes with the white scleras and colourful irises. the fingers being so much longer than the toes. there's a lot to love. solid 10/10 animal species

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.
Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.
People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.
When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.
I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.

After months of uncertainty, we finally have a glimmer of hope. My wife is expected to evacuate to Ireland in early August with the support of my Irish college. At the same time, other members of my family are hoping to evacuate temporarily to Egypt while they wait for their reunification visas to join us in Ireland.
But we cannot get there without your help.
Every step toward safety comes with overwhelming costs (evacuation, border crossings, temporary accommodation, travel, visa expenses, and the challenge of rebuilding our lives after everything we have lost). These expenses are simply beyond our family's means.
If you have already donated, thank you for giving us hope. If you are able to help again, or if you can share our campaign with others, it could make the difference between my family remaining in danger or finally reaching safety.

it just really feels sometimes like people SAY "trans men are men!" but they actually believe "trans men call themselves men, but really they're different, but like, in a FUN and COOL way which makes them exempt from having to consider their privilege over the women in their demographic!" and as a trans guy* i actually find that incredibly insulting
"trans men are the men of the trans community" is often said with a touch of deserved bitterness in response to a man being an asshole to a woman. it's generally agreed upon that it's fine when women say something along the lines of "ugh. men, am i right" because a man has just been an asshole to them. if you agree with that but your opinion changes as soon as the adjective "trans" is thrown in, then you don't actually completely treat trans women as women and trans men as men, and i urge you to fix that
