Dixie's out as Nightwing along with Jason as Red Hood bc she's got him wrapped around her finger. A criminal cuts Dixie's grapple line so she's falling but the trend pops in her head so she starts doing it bc she knows her Little Wing will catch her.

Obviously Jason catches her and he's pissed (read terrified) that Dixie's just laughing it off but she tells him to relax bc she knew he would catch her and that's why she felt comfortable having fun. Naturally Jason is smitten and lets it go since he's glad she didn't end up having to fear the fall.

A perfect edit of the whole thing ends up on the internet (apparently there were some high definition security cameras that caught it all and someone with time on their hands lol) including Nightwing kissing the cheek of Red Hood's helmet. Gotham's internet explodes with the news of Nightwing and Red Hood being an item.

It might be even funnier if they weren't even dating yet and it was just Jason silently pining while Dixie was oblivious. And then Dixie thinks the whole thing is fun and teases Jason (who goes along with it good naturedly bc he loves her) but then things aren't so funny anymore when she starts actually noticing other women approaching her Little Wing both in and out of the mask (Jason is very popular with the ladies).

She finds it unacceptable and demands that she be the only woman he concern himself with. Jason certainly doesn't have any complaints about that since that's pretty much how things have always been for him anyway and Dixie pouts bc she knows her demands are bratty and completely unreasonable but Jason is hers and she can't help but feel relieved when he reassured her that she's the most important to him.

She guilt trips herself for awhile until she has a nightmare about Jason finding someone else and leaving her and then promptly rushes over to his safehouse and launches herself into his arms while sobbing (Jason was very much so asleep and is quite overwhelmed after being woken up by a sobbing Dixie on his lap clinging to him). Jason eventually calms her down enough to get her to explain to him what's wrong so she tells him about her nightmare (it's definitely a cupid's arrow shot to the heart moment for him lol). He tries to soothe her by saying she'll always be the most important to him and he won't leave her but she yells at him that there's nothing that'll stop him from leaving if he finds someone he wants to marry in the future. Jason can practically see the lightbulb go off in Dixie's head when she turns her head back to him and says she's gonna make him fall for her so that she's the only one he'll ever wanna marry.

Jason's brain almost explodes since that's literally always been the case for him and he tells her that. Dixie has no idea how she was somehow oblivious to his feelings all this time but she's overjoyed that her Little Wing already loves her like that. She rewards him with a radiant smile and a big kiss while mentally already planning their wedding (if it wasn't obvious Dixie is a bit intense about her Little Wing bc she's lost him before but she'll never be losing him again).
