#compendium progress #compendium #lots of cleaning up existing pages this month so perhaps less new pages to show #BUT there has been expansion on the chinese japanese vedic AND celtic sections #and a bit of trimming down the egyptian section but we'll see how long that sticks #mostly been working on the cross cultural tropes pages #hard to tell without comparison but everything is a liiiittle bit more drawn to the centre/brown dots as a result #i have an editor now and shes been an incredible help in synthesizing my thoughts when i struggle lmao #shoutout to ashley

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

When people don't make the effort to get out of the mythical literalism mindset and start judging deities and their worshipers based on stories from the past that were never meant to be literal and were completely meant to be metaphorical drives me insane.

Like, stories from the past from past civilizations with very different morals, lifestyles, and survival tactics than us are going to have themes and metaphors that make us highly uncomfortable today, and being uncomfortable is valid, I am pretty sure we've all been there especially if we converted to paganism later in our lives.

What's not valid is when people repeatedly choose ignorance and repeatedly choose to have a lack of reading comprehension and repeatedly choose to cherry pick which gods and practitioners they can respect and which ones they can disrespect.
