for example, we have a microscope that is perfectly functional, good microscope, but its software is abandonware because the company refused to maintain it. the company is still in business, still makes essentially the exact same software, but they made all of the old tech incompatible with new software to force people to buy the new microscope tech. it would cost a quarter million dollars to replace this microscope. this perfectly good microscope.

“what about the poor little white kids just trying to have fun?” what about the poor little kids of color made to feel unsafe and unwelcome in a space that was supposed to be fun?

“why can’t poc just make their own redesigns and we can keep these ones” why cant you realize that your actions have consequences and that you should maybe try to not enforce racist stereotypes??

like ofc its ideal to have VARIETY among both villains AND protagonists, its when your characters look like this

SO. evilcon! this event is based on the fic "The Monster at the End of This Book" by yellow_caballero! basically it's just a convention for avatars. takes place in 2406, zemlya sannikova/sannikov land

technically only avatars and people who are marked are officially invited, but any characters who aren't can find a way in! whether it be through connections with characters who are avatars, straight up just sneaking in, or some other thing, you can go!

all kinds of posts (open rps, asks, etc.) are allowed, but if you are going to participate please tag any posts you make for the event under [#tma evilcon 2026]

event officially runs from july 15th to july 29th (aka 2 weeks) but feel free to start when you want and to continue your rps for as long as you like
