I feel like one specific aspect of eddie's reaction in 9x15 that we haven't talked about enough is his discomfort with searching buck's house. he's the only one to visibly feel bad about having to disrupt buck's privacy, which I feel is pretty striking cause usually eddie would be the one who I'd imagine would have a more pragmatic outlook on making sure that a recovering addict's house is clear of any substances they could be tempted by. in that moment, eddie is more emotionally affected by how this might look to buck like they're treating him as untrustworthy or like a criminal (which makes him bringing christopher over to keep buck company that much more of a grand gesture. this is eddie anticipating buck's hurt and preemptively trying to show him that he still trusts him, even when it might look like he doesn't.) I just think it's so interesting that we're finally seeing eddie, who is always so pragmatic and down to do what needs to be done, be the only one to hesitate because his heart has started to take the lead when it comes to buck and he can't hide behind his rationality anymore

pause with me because while the will reveal is WILD, the post-tsunami loft scene is wilder to me. their scars and wounds hadn't healed fully but Chris was going 'hey Buck' straight into gently resting his head on Buck's tummy. Eddie was bringing him to hang out with Buck without any pause, even before the city had fully recovered. I can't handle the connection of Chris wanting to go to Buck after the tsunami in s3 and Chris coming back to LA to meet Buck in s8. and both times Eddie deciding this is the correct thing to do obviously. they really said that is THEIR Buck and kept repeating this sentiment throughout the show.

it's also this thing of Eddie thinking he'll fix things up, he just needs Buck to talk to him (FT calls). I'll fix up the house. I'll fix up the job. I'll fix up a lunch to win Chris over. I'll fix up the chess situation. Just don't cut the call. but then Bobby died and the one thing Buck won't do right now is talk.

hey, don't cry. the explicit set up for the job eddie's about to turn down was that the captain was worried he'd change his mind because of a relationship he left behind in LA, ok?

eddie being so taken aback by buck subletting his house is genuinely killing me. eddie who doesn’t think anyone would go above and beyond for him and buck who does it as easily as breathing. eddie who thinks he has to do it all alone and buck who digs through mud and crawls under firetrucks with bullets flying and rips his heart right out of his chest for him, to be closer to him. to save him. eddie who hates that he’s leaving as much as buck does. eddie who says everything that matters is in texas because he can’t face everything he has to lose. and buck who is taking some of the weight off.

buck and eddie having a shared calendar and buck schedules events w/ reminders so little notifications pop up on eddies phone and sometimes he puts “kiss buck in the kitchen” and he’ll hear eddies phone ping in the next room and only a few seconds pass by before he sees eddie rounding the corner smiling.

and eddie puts cute little ones in too “remind buck to tell me about the new book he’s reading” or sometimes it’s teasing “7pm: buck loses in Mario kart. AGAIN” but sometimes buck will get a notification “1pm: tell buck how in love with him i am” and sure enough 15 minutes later at 1pm here comes eddie, even during a shift, and he slides up next to buck and leans in, bumping their shoulders, and it’s just a quiet moment btwn them two, You know i love you sweetheart. Right?. and buck is a little breathless but he manages to nod. Yeah, yeah eddie i do 💕
