“Unfind that family” because Theo can’t stand most of the 118
He doenst like their well wishes that sound fake,
the way they whisper to Buck when they think Theo can’t hear,
he doesn’t like their high pitch voices like he’s a baby,
he doesn’t like how they look at him when he runs around or have fun,
he doesn’t like how Buck is sad when he spend time with them and comes back home all sad and gloomy
He just doesn’t like them
He doesn’t mind Chris or Ravi or May or Athena tho
And he’s very curious about the man they met at the grocery store, Buck was sad after meeting him but not in the way he gets when he visit “aunt” Maddie and “oncle” Chim and he thinks Buck even cried that night, so he doesn’t know if he likes the man yet or not but Buck looked happy seeing him at the store so…
You got me socks? Compression socks! Your life is about to change, May Grant, and so is the amount of time you spend on your feet.
MAYRAVI KISS
Thinking about Theo, being 8 and saying "Daaaad!" when Tommy tells him a particularly stupid joke.
And Tommy is shocked, and amazed, and has no idea how to react. Because it hasn't been that long since Buck was finally upgraded to "Dad", and Tommy never expected to get the same title EVER.
But Buck tells him: "You're making dad jokes, what were you expecting?"
And somehow that's when it hits Tommy that he crossed the line from having a boyfriend with a kid to having a family a long time ago, and it's actually working out great.

Buck is crashing out. Theo has been a tornado trapped inside a tiny body for as long as buck knew him.
Yesterday he was still screeching in bucks ear as the little guy continuously jumped over him on the couch. He drove buck up the wall most days.
Buck would do anything to have that little rascal back.
3 missed calls.
They had just gotten back from a call when buck looked at his phone. He didn’t look to see who had called him and immediately called the number back.
“Daycare the waddling pinguïn, this is Caroline speaking.”
Buck’s heart dropped into his stomach.
“Hi, this is Buck- Evan Buckley, Theo’s dad.”
“Hi Buck, thank you for calling back. We called because Theo isn’t feeling well, he threw up once and his running a bit of a temperature. Is it possible for you to come pick him up?”
“Yes, yes of course. I’ll be there as soon as I can.”
He was already moving before he finished the sentence.
He hung up as he looked around for chimney.
“Chim!”
“Buck!” Chimney exclaimed as he turned towards a very worried looking buck.
“Woah, what’s going on?”
“Theo, Theo is sick I need to go get him.”
“Buck, breathe. Of course you can go get him, but you have to calm down.”
“I’ll calm down when I see him.”
That’s the last thing buck said before he sprinted out of the station towards his car.
-
Buck did not calm down when he saw Theo. At least not inside his head.
“Hey Theo,” he said, crouching down to where his very pale looking boy was sitting.”
Big, wet, blue eyes stared up at him.
“Buck,” he whispered as he reached his arms up.
Buck picked him up, holding him as tightly and as carefully as possible.
-
Theo barely left his arms that whole day, stuck to his buck like duct tape.
Buck didn’t want to let go either, even if that meant getting covered in puke. Which did happen once.
Buck didn’t mind, but he also did. He wanted his bouncy boy back. Theo was unrecognisable.
He dealt with it as best as he could. But then the evening came, and Theo’s fever got higher, and he got whinier and clingier. And then he couldn’t stop crying.
Buck was tired, Theo was beyond tired. They both couldn’t sleep.
Buck felt a little hopeless, he just wanted to make Theo feel better but he was starting to lose his mind a little.
He wanted to call Maddie, but she was at work. The 118 was also still on a shift. He could call Karen, but buck knew that Mara was going through something, he didn’t want to put more on Karen.
But it was 1am and buck was getting desperate.
He had Bluey on the tv, theo could probably barely see it as his face was pressed against bucks neck, as he scrolled through his contacts.
There was one person. Someone who always picked up.
Buck pressed call, not giving himself time to think.
“Evan?”
Just hearing that voice made buck want to burst into tears.
“Tommy,” he said through softly, not wanting to disturb the semi calmed down Theo against him.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Tommy sounded careful, sincere.
Buck realised that he wasn’t sure if Tommy knew about Theo’s existence. Had anyone told him about the situation?
“Uhm, did- I don’t know if someone told you but I kinda have a kid.”
It was quiet for a beat. Buck continued.
“If nobody has, surprise. I have a four year old kid. But that’s not really why I’m calling- well it is. Fuck- shit- I shouldn’t be cursing-“
“Evan, it’s okay. Tell me why you’re calling.”
Buck failed to blink back the tears forming in his eyes.
“He’s sick for the first time since he’s been with me and I’m so overwhelmed.”
Buck looked down ar the head full of curls.
“I just want to be there for him, I just want him to feel better but I don’t know what to do, Tommy, I don’t know what to do,”
Tears were now fully streaming down his face.
“Shh, hey, Evan, listen. I’m sure you’re doing amazing. Did you give him some medicine?”
“Yes.”
“Did you give him some liquids?”
“Yes.”
“Is his temperature still in the safe zone?”
“Yes.”
“Are you giving him cuddles?”
“I’ve never cuddled someone more in my life.” Buck sniffled through a laugh.
“Then you’re doing amazing Evan. Really.”
Buck felt himself calm down.
“Thank you.”
“No need. Now why don’t you try to get some sleep. I could come bring you guys some breakfast before my shift? Would that be okay?”
Buck now wanted to cry for a completely different reason.
“You don’t have to do that Tommy-“
“I want to, Evan. Plus, I want to hear the story of how you ended up with a kid. So, it’s also a selfish reason.”
“Okay,”
“Okay?”
“Yeah, you can come over. Maybe a smoothie for Theo? That’s my kid, he’s been throwing up all day so a smoothie might be safest.”
“Sounds good.”
Even breathed into the silence for a few seconds.
“Thank you, Tommy.”
“No need-“
“No, thank you. Again, for always being here for me. I wanna tell you about Theo too, and I want to hear about how you’re doing too. I want you here for selfish reasons too.” Buck felt himself smile.
“Hm, good to know. I’ll see you tomorrow, Evan.”
“See you tomorrow.”
Buck hung up.
The title song of Bluey now the only sound in the room.
And the soft, rhythmic breathing coming from the little boy on his chest.
Theo had finally fallen asleep. Buck could feel the last of his stress seep from his body.
He sat there for a while waiting for Theo to be in deep sleep. He remembered that Tommy probably didn’t have his new adres. So he send him a quick text before carrying Theo to his bed and getting some sleep himself.
The end.

Now, if I could just have one more wish granted… *cough* Tommy *cough*
Tommy is at Home Depot: the chain on his elderly neighbor Lydia’s porch swing broke and he promised he’d pick up some feet of chain to repair it for her. When he turns into the aisle of the store, he doesn’t expect to see what it looks like a small explosion of rope pulled off two of the spools mounted on the wall. A toddler is standing in front of another spool, making noises as he pulls the ropes off another spool of coloured rope.
“Hey buddy, whatcha doing?” Tommy says as he walks closer, looking around for a parent, but the boy seems to be on his own.
The boy looks up while the rope keeps dropping of the spool from the momentum his pulling has caused, building a heap on the floor. “I wanna see how long it is.”
Tommy walks over, reaaching out to stop the spool. “It says there’s 50 feet on it when it’s a new one. Before someone starts cutting pieces off.”
The boy cocks his head to the side. “How long is 50 feet?”
Tommy looks up, frowning. “You see that stack of crates at the end of the aisle? About there and back again. Roughly.”
The boy nods solemnly, looking in the direction Tommy has pointed out.
Then, without warning, he starts running towards the crates, taps it on the side, and runs back. “That’s not so far!”
Tommy can’t help grinning. “No, it’s not.” He looks around again, having hoped the kid’s parents would have appeared by now. “Hey buddy, where’s your parents? Were they looking to buy rope too?”
The kid stops, letting out a deep breath as his voice goes quiet. He lifts one hand, pointing upwards. Tommy follows where he’s pointing with his eyes, only seeing the underside of the metal roof of the store. “Upstairs?” he asks, confused.
“In heaven,” the boy says quietly, and Tommy feels his heart clench.
“Oh buddy,” he says, not sure what to say to that. He crouches down in front of the kid. “Where’s the person you came to the shop with today?” he asks instead, trying to focus on the immediate problem first. The kid shrugs his shoulders. “Ok. Want me to help you find them?” The kid nods. “Okay, cool. I can do that. My name is Tommy, what’s your name?”
“Theo,” the kid says, looking up again.
“Hi Theo. You see those big speakers on the ceiling there?” Tommy asks, pointing them out. Theo nods. “Wanna go to the store desk and ask them if you can use the big speakers? We can find who you came to the store with using them.”
The boy’s eyes go big. “Yes!” he exclaims.
“Ok, let’s do that. Okay if I lift you up?” Theo nods and reaches out, waiting for Tommy to pick him up and settle him securely on his hip.
It’s only a short walk to the front desk. Tommy sets Theo down on the counter and explains the situation to the lady there, cringing when he tells her they should probably send someone to clean up the aisle where he found the kid. The employee is very sweet and understanding, showing Theo the microphone for the store’s speaker system and making him scoot over so that he’ll be able to speak into it.
She pushes a button at the bottom of the microphone. “Attention, please. Little Theo is at the main desk looking for his family. If you’re here with Theo, please come to the main desk, thank you!” She turns the microphone towards the boy, who takes a deep breath and—
“BUCK, BUCK, BUCK!” The boy shouts, his voice magnified by the store’s sound system.
The name is like a punch to the gut. Tommy feels caught off guard, short of breath. It has to be a coincidence. He tries to school his face into something neutral, glad the kid is momentarily distracted by the employee explaining the set-up of the main desk, showing him the screens cycling through different security feeds of the store and prompting him to point out if he sees his family.
“Theo!”
And that is a very familiar voice. Tommy hopes he’s got his face under enough control when he turns around towards Evan, but before he can say anything, Theo has stood up on top of the main desk, and it’s only Tommy’s quick reflexes that keep the kid from launching himself off the desk and in Evan’s direction.
“Careful, buddy,” he says, holding him out for Evan. “Hey.”
Evan looks flushed, strained. His eyes are too wide and a little wet as he clutches the kid to his chest. “H-hey, Tommy.”
“I found him in the meterware aisle,” Tommy explains around the lump in his throat, not sure what else to say.
“Oh god,” Evan says, squeezing his eyes shut for a moment, turning to the lady at the main desk. “I’m so sorry, I’ll pay for anything he broke,” he promises, but the lady only shakes her head, telling him someone is already in the clean up and that they’re good.
“Thank him for picking him up,” she suggests and dismisses them, turning towards another customer that approched the desk.
Evan turns back towards him. His eyes only look more glassy. “Always coming to the rescue,” Evan says, his lips drawing into a sad little smile. Tommy feels his heart clench again.
“Always,” Tommy echoes, confirms. He glances at Theo, who has twisted in Evan’s arms, looking at him curiously. “How are you?”
“It’s…” Evan shakes his head. “It’s complicated.”
“You wanna talk about it?”

Fuck It Friday
Listen. Do I love this donor baby storyline? No. Was that kid adorable and did I fall in love immediately? Yes. And since it's Fuck It Friday, I wrote this. I was tagged by @bidisasterevankinard and @bangpop91
The alarms go off and the whole of the 217 ground crew is on the move, tugging on their turn outs and booking it for the rigs. Tommy has been maxed out on flight hours for half a shift so he joins in the melee, claiming the seat behind Captain Melton before the engine pulls out of the bay, sirens blaring. They're enroute to an elementary school and the fear and concern in the truck is thick enough to cut with a knife.
They're halfway to the loctation when dispatch calls and informs them that there is no fire, just a student who got a little too curious about the red box they were told never to touch.
"Keep the sirens on," Melton instructs the driver.
"Cap–" Tommy starts, but Melton waves a hand.
"No one's going to get in trouble, Kinard. We're just going to remind our young citizens about the importance of fire safety."
The whole school is gathered on the little patch of grass considered a track field when the engine pulls in.
"Kinard, with me. Everyone else, hang back and make us look good."
Tommy follows Melton across the parking lot to the field where a woman who Tommy assumes is the principal is waiting. Another woman is standing nearby, holding the hand of a little boy with what can only be described as a shit eating grin across his face.
I just know that if Tommy so much of got a glance of Buck he would know something was wrong. Even if he had no idea what Buck had gone through with the kidnapping.
And when he would look Buck in the eye he would see how hard Buck was screaming for help. How scared he was, how desperate he was for someone to notice, because no one ever does.
Tommy would look at him, actually look at him and ask “What’s going on with you?”. And Buck would say “nothing, I’m fine.” Tommy would give him a look of ‘try again’.
Buck’s face would start to crumble, the fight slowly leaving him.
“Can I touch you?” Tommy would ask.
Buck would nod.
Tommy would put a hand on Buck’s cheek, catching the tear that finally escaped its tightly contained prison.
“Help, please help me.” Buck would say, voice trembling barely above a whisper.
Tommy would catch him, hold him in his arms.
“I’ve got you. I’m here, I see you.”

I hesitate to make any of this about BuckTommy but Tommy was so so focused on Buck and Buck getting better when The Curse happened that he was willing to help stage a funeral for a man they never knew to help him feel better and every bit of care that was given to Buck in that montage was given to him by Tommy for something far less serious because Tommy was the one person that was always in Buck’s corner without having to be asked. This whole episode made me revisit how Masks was the last time someone truly paid attention to Buck and no that doesn’t absolve Tommy for the bullshit reasoning for the breakup but it does make me yearn for Buck to have that level of security back.
Yeah, imma need to read about 400 fix it bucktommy fics to recover from that episode…
