Sterek is the type of weird creepy couple in which Stiles would say he wants a werewolf fang necklace and Derek would easily answer "choose one" and open his mouth for his human to pick.
Thanks for the prompt! I had some fun with this one. 1,433 words of some 118 bucktommy. nsfw. I told myself I was going to actually be succinct and paint in broad strokes--I succeeded only some of the time.
Tommy is still at the 118 when Buck joins and they're almost immediately at odds with each other. Maybe Buck is intimidated by Tommy being the one who has been at the 118 the longest. Tommy knows he's on his way out, but maybe he's feeling replaced already.
Bobby is surprised by Tommy's reaction to Buck; though he's heard the stories about the 118 before he arrived, Tommy's been nothing but welcoming and helpful to anyone new who's stepped through those bay doors since he's arrived. Granted, none of them have been quite asâimpulsive or hot-headed as Buckâbut he thought Tommy would be good for Buck and Bobby's not sure if Buck's behavior is the only explanation for Tommy keeping him at arm's length. Bobby maybe has some theories that he is mostly trying to ignore; not because he has a problem with it, but because it feels like overstepping a boundary. All he can do is try to be someone Tommy feels comfortable confiding in, if that may ever be the case.
Bobby thinks that Buck and Tommy are more alike than they realize, though that may actually explain some of the friction. He knows they would make a great team if they could get it through their thick skulls that they are on the same teamâworking towards the same purposeâbut every time it seems they've figured it out, they backslide. Two steps forward, one step back.
So when it comes time for the annual firefighter games, Bobby signs up Buck and Tommy. Maybe something that's lower stakes will allow them to work together towards winning together and they'll see how good a team they can be and not lose that lesson after the adrenaline wears off, like they would in a life or death situation.
Buck and Tommy get to wherever the games are being held (could be fun if it was somewhere Buck lived for awhile during his travels) and they get checked in and Buck calls Bobby and asks why he didn't tell him he was going to be sharing a room with Tommy. Bobby says, "there are two beds, aren't there?" and Buck sighs and says, "well, yeah, butâ" and he can practically hear Bobby roll his eyes before he says, "then it'll be just like at the station. Good luck." and he hangs up before Buck can protest further.
The games aren't until the next day and they don't really know how to just be in each other's presence, so they both spend the next few hours in the hotel gym aggressively one-upping each other. Buck tries to get Tommy to spar with him and he won't, as usual. When they get back to their room, Buck calls him on it and Tommy says something cocky about not wanting to hurt Buck and Buck tackles him to the bed and they roll around, wrestling each other, and there's untimely boners and they're both breathing hard and there's a moment where they both still and they're just looking at each other and it seems like they might kiss, but then Tommy pushes Buck off of him and mumbles something about taking a shower. [and then there's basically mutual masturbation but from separate rooms and they don't know each other is doing it]
When it comes to the games, it takes them some time to sync up and really be able to work together well and so they don't start out too hot but they end up finishing strong and they win first place [maybe. probably. is that too cliche? fuck it, we ball]
They're at a bar afterwards celebrating. Buck gets up to go to the restroom and when he gets back, there's a guy hitting on Tommy and asking if he can buy him a drink.
Buck sidles up to the bar and says to the stranger, "A handsome guy like you? He should be buying you a drink." The stranger's smile is blinding when he turns to Buck and behind his back, Tommy's glaring daggers at Buck as he mouths, what are you doing? When the stranger turns back towards Tommy to see what he thinks, Buck grins at Tommy and mouths, winning.
They both learn the guy's name is Roderick and they both buy him drinks and spend the next hour aggressively flirting with him, thinking that they're both competing for his affection, when in reality Roderick thinks (and rightfully so) that Buck and Tommy are a thing and are trying to have a threesome.
Buck is not consciously aware of his attraction as sexual; like of course he knows Roderick is hot, but he wasn't planning on actually doing anything with him (to be clear, he never said that he was either), and of course he can see why Roderick finds Tommy hotâbecause he is hotâbut really, he was only consciously aware of being motivated by some unfathomable need for Roderick to find him hotter.
Roderick says he's going to the use the restroom and then they can go back to Buck and Tommy's hotel room and only then do Buck and Tommy realize what Roderick has been thinking the whole time. Tommy expects Buck to back offâhe has no doubt that there is some truth to Buck's flirting, but he has the feeling Buck doesn't realize it. Buck is too stubborn and quite franklyânow too curious to back off.
Buck makes a face at Tommy. "And let you win?"
Tommy sighs. "This isn't a competition. I'm just trying to get laid."
Buck lifts his chin. "Well, so am I."
Tommy snorts. "Suit yourself."
On the way back to their hotel room, both Buck and Tommy keep expecting Buck to freak out and tap out, but he never does.
As soon as the door is shut, Roderick pulls Tommy in by the back of his neck and kisses him. He does the same to Buck. Then he looks between Buck and Tommy and they both move at the same time, lips crashing together, and Buck surprises them all by how loud he moans.
Then it's a flurry of grabbing hands and clothes being shed and they fall onto one of the beds.
Tommy sees Buck's hesitation, so he makes the first move and asks Roderick if he can suck his cock. Buck watches Tommy like his life depends on it and after a few minutes, he pushes Tommy away so he can suck Roderick's cock (like Tommy, but better, he thinks haughtily). Tommy just chuckles and then he's coaching him through it, with a hand in Buck's hair. Before Roderick comes, Tommy says, "let me," and Buck stops sucking his cock and moves up the bed to kiss him instead while he comes in Tommy's mouth.
And then Tommy rides Buck while Roderick sucks Tommy's cock.
After Roderick leaves, Buck and Tommy shower together, trading lazy kisses and hand jobs.
When they're lying in bed cuddling, Buck isn't sure what to do with all of his thoughts and feelings, so he presses a kiss to Tommy's chest and says, "I won."
Tommy rolls his eyes and pulls Buck even closer, murmurs, "you're in my bed, pretty sure I won." And maybe it's a little too tender, a little too close to the marrow. So he adds, "your bed is the one covered in cum."
Buck nips at Tommy's chest. "Mhmm. Maybe that's how I prefer it, did you ever think about that?"
Tommy snorts and turns off the bedside lamp. "Goodnight, Evan."
When they get back to their normal lives, they keep hooking up and not really talking about it, but morale seems to have improved overall and Bobby pats himself on the back for it.
On Tommy's last day, they have a cake for him. Bobby runs into Buck sneaking out of a supply closet. He notices the frosting on his face and raises his eyebrows. "I thought you were in ketosis?" He makes finger quotes.
Buck frowns, then his eyes widen ever so slightly as he wipes at his mouth. "Uh, yeah. Couldn't resist, I guess."
Bobby just nods and says, "uh huh," and continues on to the kitchen. When he walks past the closet a few minutes later and sees Tommy coming out, he just chuckles quietly, squeezes Tommy's shoulder, and says, "congratulations."
Buck and Tommy finally make things official some time after Tommy starts at Harbor.
Bobby feigns disappointment in his team when he finds out A-shift (and even some of B and C shifts) had a betting pool going all along.

And I first saw â118 vs Tommyâ and it made me think what about a bowling competition between stations
Like around early S9
So Tommy is alone, no contact from the 118 and maybe not even thanks for Chimney, even if he can understand and Bobby is dead so whatever
Still heâs pissed at the 118 and he gets angrier when he realizes that the 118 and 217 are against each other at the firefighter bowling thing
Worse heâs the only of the 217 there because there is a big emergency maybe and he already worked too much
So heâs just there and the 118 is there and itâs beyond awkward
And they say that they can reschedule so the rest of the 217 can be there but Tommy doesnât have the strength to redo it, so he just scoffs and says he can take down the 118 alone
Which get Eddie and Chimney and Buck riled up
Like the game is actually mean, Tommy doesnât mince his words nor do the others which angers him even more
Buck and Tommy hiding from Buckâs parents and aunts and uncles they donât even know as well as the various children screaming and running everywhere
Theyâre both entering Sophomore, but Tommy is still older by two years. He had to repeat two years throughout his school years because of the number of absences he had.
They start dating during summer, they met at a summer job and clicked immediately and after both made a fool of themselves in front of the other they got their shit together, nobody except them know
One day Tommy comes to work with a badly concealed black eye and itâs the day Buck learns about whatâs going on at the Kinard house
The insults, the hits, the punishments
During the summer, Buck steals food at his home to give Tommy so he always has something to eat, sharing every moments they can until they both have to be home
Buck for his chores and general ignorance from his parents, Tommy for his chores as well, and to satisfy his dadâs need of a servant and punching ball
Every day as they go their separate ways Buck want to pull Tommy and bring him to his home, to tell his parents everything, to beg them to welcome Tommy and give him a place to be safe, but every time he gets close to tell them about his bisexuality; about Tommy, his tongue get stuck to the top of his mouth, like it grew 4 sizes
every day, he tells Tommy how he tried, but he canât get the words out, and each time Tommy is the one to reassure him, even when he has a new black eye or bruises, or the worst day, welts all over his back, Buck still wonders how Tommy can stay with him when Buck cries each time he sees his wounds and Tommy has to reassure him and doesnât complain once
As school grows nearer, Buck has to go back home earlier and earlier, his parents asking him to get back into a rhythm
And Tommy spends his afternoons often alone, alone with his thoughts, alone with his wounds. He knows, he can feel that with the speed at which his father has been moving, he will not see Christmas if it doesnât change.
Because of his parents, Buck has not been able to go out for 2 weeks; which kept him from talking to Tommy since his father broke his phone in a fit of rage and never changed it, and now itâs the first day of class and Tommy doesnât come.
Heâs not here when first period starts, nor when second ends or even when the bells ring.
Buck goes to their summer job but Tommy isnât there either ⌠and so he goes back home where his mom tells him that some mail arrived for him.
At first he thinks that itâs Maddie, but when he opens it he sees Tommyâs writing and reads it in his room
Tommy who explain to him that he couldnât stay, that he couldnât trust his dad not to kill him and so he did the only thing he could.
He joined the army.
Tommy who thanks Buck for this summer, who thank him for being there for him, for freeing his minds these past few weeks and making him want to live again.
Tommy who asks him to live a great life, to be happy, to find a nice girl or boy and make his dream family true. Who asks him to free himself from the unattainable goals that his parents give him.
Tommy who promises him to always think of him, to always love Buck whatever comes. Who promise to do his best to survive.
Buck who cries all night holding that letter, who in a fit of anger, anger at Tommy, at Tommyâs dad, at his parents, at himself tears the letters apart before crying even more as he tries to put it back together.
Who has a mangle piece of paper now put together with scotch that he keeps in his nightstand until he leaves his familyâs house.
A relic that he takes with him to college, on his trips, to LA.
A treasure that Abby asks about once and only once when she sees the way his eyes shine when she holds the paper, and gives it back to him to watch it him pull it against his chest.
A memory that is now in his nightstand, in his own loft, a piece of his soul that he poured into the paper after reading it hundreds, thousands of times, a tether to a happier time, a time that comes crashing back into him as he stands next to a helicopter and looks at their pilot.

Summary:
The goddess pulling the sun, SĂłl, has disappeared, and Isak has seen it, not that heâs aware of it.
Still, when Fimbulvetr starts, it falls on him, Son of Baldr, his friends as well as the boy he just met, Even, Son of Loki, to find her and stop the eternal winter and RagnarĂśk from happening.
Isak didnât know where he was when he opened his eyes, and the first thing he was aware of was the heat, which was like nothing he had ever felt.
It was licking at his back, at his side, at his front; it was all compassing, everywhere all at once and inescapable, like the hug of an overbearing aunt he couldnât escape.
His vision was filled with rays of light everywhere he looked in front of him: white, orange, yellow, red, green; beams of light rushing everywhere in front of his eyes and ricocheting by hitting each other or just changing their path randomly.
And next to him, a woman was standing there, her hand tight around thick leather reins. She was taller than he was; her hair shone as if the light was coming from within her instead of being bathed in sunlight.
They were both standing on a chariot, pulled by two horses whose shoulders and backs were covered in thick iron and galloping, pulling the chariot forward and behind it, held securely by chains: the sun; which was where his eyes finally travelled to.
It explained the heat he could feel bathing his body.
âSĂłl,â growled a voice.
Looking away from the sun, Isak turned his eyes toward the voice coming from behind them. His eyes had a short reprieve from all the light coming from the ball of fire, but when his gaze fell on the source of the voice, he almost regretted being half blind from the sunâs light.
If he and the woman were bathed in light, the wolf running after them was draped in darkness, each of his steps making the light that was just there disappear and bringing in the night. Spit dripping from his open maw, locked in a snarl as he ran toward them, his eyes focused on the chariot in front.
âSĂłl,â he repeated.
The shout was deafening; the growl echoing around space and rushing toward them like a sound bullet.
Isak blinked at it, feeling his hair move from the strength of the shout toward them and his body hair reacting as well, standing on end and making his body shiver even with the strong heat coming from the sun next to them.
He finally looked away, toward the woman next to him, toward SĂłl, who acted like she didnât hear the wolf.
Maybe she was too used to it. Maybe she couldnât hear it well, not with the other noises around them.
With his focus pulled away from the wolf, he could only hear the sound of her horsesâ hooves as well as the crackling from the sun. His studies always told him that the sun was loud, but here it was barely over the sound of a torch. Or maybe the distance between the sun and where he stood was protecting him from the actual noise of the celestial object.
Either way, the hooves and the wheels of the chariot were louder to him, and maybe that was why she could easily ignore the beast behind them.
It didnât scream often, but Isak didnât really have any sense of time as he stood there, in this chariot pulling the sun, SĂłlâs chariot.
Under them he could see the realms, nine circles laying there, branches of Yggdrasil holding them in place across its unfathomably big tree trunk, even being so high that he could see the nine realms in just one glance, he couldnât see the start or the end of the World Tree and just trying made him dizzy.
Wherever his focus was pulled toward, it hurt him in different ways: the heat, the noise, the sheer size of it all, and the beast snarling behind them and he didnât have to think long of what the wolf would do to them if it caught them; Isak didnât belong here.
Why was he even there? Why was he seeing this?
He didnât remember eating anything weird the night before, and his dreams tended to be more rational, not that he lacked imagination. As a demigod, it would be hard not to have some, when his daily life could include running into random sjĂśvĂŚttir that would try to soak him or worse, drown him, but his dreams had never been like this. Real like this.
His eyes caught a movement, and before he could turn toward it to see better, the chariot shook, and the woman screamed.
âHow dare you?â she shouted before the chariot shook again and tumbled, sending Isak out of it and into the empty space around them.
The sudden action made the chains holding the sun break like old rubber bands, and the horses kept running forward as Isak started to fall.
He looked up and saw a massive chain raise and hit the chariot again; the contact making it explode, sending bits of wood everywhere at high speed; he barely had time to put his arms in front of his face as pieces of wood were coming his way and a small shard embedded itself in his hand, making him hiss.
As his body gained speed toward the World Tree and the realms held within, he saw the chain stab her shoulder.
The scream that followed was so loud that even with the distance between them, he could feel it in his bones; it resonated, from his ears to his brain in less than a second, his eyes tearing up from the pain at feeling his body being shaken that way.
Away from SĂłl he saw the horses keep running and already almost invisible among the surrounding darkness, he saw the wolf stop where the chariot had been hit and destroyed and heard it growl and howl and the night around them seemed darker the more Isak fell and the longer SĂłl appeared to be incapacitated, he couldnât see her anymore, not since the chariot was hit a second time and her body was taken down by the chain.
His gaze went back to the sun floating there, broken chains floating around it, the celestial body still blinding him.
His eyes opened, and he groaned at being blinded by the dawn.
âFaen,â he groaned, raising his hand in front of his eyes to hide them from the sun coming into his room through his opened curtains.
He was barely able to blink his eyes open when he stood up to walk toward the window to hide his room from the sun.
The sun.
His hand started to tremble around the curtains he was still holding, and he released them, grabbing his hand with his other one, trying to keep the appendage steady.
Was there something about the sun today? He squinted at the closed curtains, trying to remember why thinking about the sun would suddenly make his hand shake.
He turned around toward his bed, groaning at how illuminated his room still looked, even with the closed curtains. Maybe it was just his vision, after being blinded by the morning sun, maybe it imprinted on his eyes or something.
If he were more alert, heâd realize his own body was emitting more light than his room had ever received from the sun itself, but it would end up fading before he could.
He went back to his bed and, just in case the apartment would decide to open his curtains again, he turned his back to the window and closed his eyes.
