They end up at the Grand Canyon. Buck has been before, during his time he spent traveling around. But he’d always thought about how nice it’d be to share with someone.

They end up just kind of unplugging, going on hikes, enjoying the time together. Buck feels his head quite a little. He’s mostly focused on the history, how the Grand Canyon has changed over time, all the different workers that look after the different aspects of the park. But, he’s mostly surprised by how much the noise of his day to day life fades away. He hadn’t really realized how much noise there was. Both in his life and in his brain.

It also ends up giving the two of them time to hash things out a little. There’s a lot of space to run from each other…. But there’s no shifts to get to or make up, there’s no one asking for favors, there’s no one Buck feels obligated to help, there’s no kitchen to bake in, there’s no one playing keep away with his phone.

They end up talking through a lot that they might not have otherwise. Which wasn’t necessarily the goal when the two decided to take a vacation together. But neither is upset with the outcome, once things are hashed out.

“Everyone’s gonna start showing up in an hour or so,” Evan says, pushing a pair of dark sunglasses onto his face.

“Cool,” Tommy looks him up and down.

Evan’s in a pair of swim trunks with a logo Tommy doesn’t recognize on them, and a white t shirt. The sleeves cling to his biceps. His cheeks are pink. He’s still smiling. Tommy glances back at the pool, and pulls his phone out of his pocket.

“Where’s your phone?” Tommy asks, putting his own onto one of the lounge chairs.

“Uh…” Evan pats at his pockets, “I think I left it inside.”

“Empty pockets?” Tommy asks.

“Hmm? Yeah I…”

Tommy watches as Evan puts two and two together, as his smile gets wider.

“Don’t you dare.” Evan takes a step back. “Tommy—”

Evan’s quick on his feet, but Tommy’s quicker. It’s easy for Tommy to snag and tug him close. He's strong, squirming in Tommy's arms.

“No! Nonono—” Evan’s laughing, trying to twist away.

Sorry about the delay, I had to write this one in and I had a busy couple of days! Mild spoilers (and the word 'sunlight') under the cut.

Evan’s house is so big there’s apparently an entire pool that Tommy just didn’t notice. It’s not like it’s hidden away, there’s a corner of the backyard that Tommy couldn’t see from the kitchen windows, but it’s still… jarring.

“I didn’t even see this,” Tommy says stupidly, following Evan into the backyard.

It’s a big pool, with a hot tub attached. The outdoor lounge chairs are not sun bleached, a deep blue with matching pillows and looming sunbrellas.

“To be fair, we did get distracted in the middle of the house tour,” Evan grins back at Tommy.

Sometimes pookies come like out of nowhere, sometimes I struggle a little with them, so @v88sy thank you for your request, im so sorry for the waiting i hope you like it yayyyy🥰🥰🥰 (i still owe you one tho👀)
