trying, trying, trying

Radiant girl! It has been so so sooo long but you popped up on my dashboard and I was so delighted to see all that's going on with you. I'm sure it can't be easy but you are still pure sunshine and seeing you live your life and navigate big milestones is so lovely. Congratulations on everything you've built for yourself. You're remarkable and you have worked so hard to get here. Keep letting love into your life- for yourself, for your supports, for squish. You deserve it.

At my midwife appt today they did an ultrasound to check Squish’s positioning (it’s a little early - they usually check at 36 weeks and I’ll be 35 weeks on Thursday) and I was so certain he was head down (which is what we want) but it turns out he’s in breech position with his head up by my left ribs. I’m disappointed because that means I might need a c section. I’m going in again next week to get an ultrasound at 36 weeks and if he hasn’t flipped by then, they’ll offer an External Cephalic Version which is where an OB would use external pressure on my uterus to try to flip him head down. Unfortunately it sounds like it’s a pretty uncomfortable procedure and there’s no guarantee it’ll work - generally success rates are 40-60%. Even if he does flip, it’s possible he could flip back into breech position before labor starts. Sometimes ECVs can cause distress in the baby which could lead at an emergency c section. There are also other things I can try - positions at home, acupuncture, and specific chiropractic care.
