He trusts Puzzles fairly quickly, which can be seen as desperation since he cant do anything besides trust him, but then they stick together after and they've been around each other for less than two days and he's ride or die for him even when that sentiment is flipped upon being betrayed.

Hes weirded out by Toomp when he meets him, but grows attached to him really fast as well. He genuinely cared about him, even if his way of caring was the wrong way and he needed to learn how to respect Toomp as an adult and not baby him. They cared alot about each other, and Toomp helped him out when he needed it too, kept him grounded when he really needed that.

We know about his strong attachment to Karen and his weird obsession with her, and how he acted with the kids. He's got too much baggage there to really fix any of that, but the fact he cared enough to want to remove his memories, then decided against it because they were too important, says a lot about someone outwardly seen as just some dangerous assassin.
