oh, i agree! when i said “more than friends” i didnt mean that being romantic is automatically better than friendship, i just meant like them taking their relationship to the next base. the “more” referring to the level of intimacy rather than the meaningfulness of their dynamic

both options are their own kind of special, and i love em both :D

edit: been thinking about the "equal grounds" thing, and there's an argument to be made that if they got together romantically, it would indicate a higher level of trust between the two of them. not that they wouldnt trust each other if they remained friends, but the romance could have the potential to be something very special if done right.

Or do you root for them to get together (do you "ship" the couple), even though it’s not official in the series?

Just out of curiosity—and I don't want you to think I'm homophobic or prejudiced—it's just that sometimes this habit of shipping characters with each other or with OCs can go a bit too far. You know what I mean?

i don't see puzzles and wpnz as any one way. and i wouldn't say i'm "rooting" for anything in particular, either. what i want is an interesting story, and whatever relationship dynamic will make that story work is what i'm "rooting" for. and i have faith that the CaV team knows what they're doing.

puzzles and wpnz are narrative devices, and their relationship could go any number of ways. they could be lovers, they could be best friends, they could even hate each other. all of these are possible depending on the story you want to tell, which i believe is more important than "who ends up with who." and i also believe that ALL of it is fair game.

it only becomes uninteresting for me when the romance is prioritized over the story. the characters' relationships should enhance the story, and it doesn't do much for me if you could take out their relationship entirely and nothing about the story would change.

there are interesting stories to tell where wpnz and puzzles are best friends. there are interesting stories to tell where they're lovers, or where they are in romantic relationships with other characters. as long as the writing is good and the story is interesting, i'll enjoy it! the consumption of this kind of thing becomes more fun when you think of it less like a competition and more like "HOLY SHIT 8 DOZEN CAKES"
