Aubrey Tjangala was born in 1974 at Yayi Yayi, a Pintupi outstation 30km west of Papunya. Yayi Yayi was a temporary settlement established by Pintupi people as they began their migration back into the Western Desert during the homelands movement of the 1970s.

After returning to his home Country,

Aubrey lived at his father's outstation,

Everyone's favorite bear who teaches about the importance of preventing forest fires. In fact, the Wildfire Prevention Campaign is now one of the longest-running public service announcement campaigns in the United States, and our man Smokey Bear has recently turned 80! To this day you can still often see him hanging around outside parks and other recreational buildings, warning you of the current fire danger so you'll know what precautions to take. What a wonderful man, that Smokey.
