so can we start hunting down white liberals now or what
The full picture is even more heart breaking after you open the uncropped version. Just a heads-up, it's rough
“The Roman Catholic Parish in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan was just grafitted.”
Nah let’s post it. Let’s feel it. Don’t look away.
I notice alot of my followers on here skipping these posts just to mess with my lgbt ones, suspiciously the white popular ones.
Heres a not so friendly reminder, as an lgbt metis person, i dont give a single fuck what your blog is themed or if this is too painful for you to look at. Reblog this post. Reblog this post with the sources of the 751 children who were found.
Your compliance and silence as well as the compliance and silence of your ancestors is what allowed these schools to open and kill first nations children. The children of MY people.
Dont follow me if you cant reblog this post or the one with sources to your political blog or your most popular blog. Add trigger warnings if you must but if your political blog is only focused on the harms you personally face like being lgbt then you need to see some bigger pictures and stop being afraid of angering your racist mutural or actually saying some shit about racism. If you can reblog some antifa graphics or add blm to your bio to be a surface level ally, you can reblog some sources on the genocide first nations people faced and still face today.
They were CHILDREN.
They were murdered in cold blood.
I’d like to add this photo I took last night in Victoria of the statue of Captain Cook. Though I myself am not indigenous, I 100% agree that these murderers, kidnappers and rapists shouldn’t have huge statues and plaques that decorate them and say how “great” they were.
Here’s another photo of the legislative assembly from yesterday. Later on there were more items, candles and signs at the memorial, as well as a big poster with 1505 painted on it but I didn’t get a picture
People need to see this. Not just quickly glance at the photos and keep on scrolling. They need to see this.
Reblog this or just stop following me
I had seen the first picture of the church, but not the second.
I went to a “Cancel Canada Day” event and burst into tears - not because I was surprised to learn of the unmarked graves (survivors told us they were there. Our government pushed it aside, and we let them), but because seeing all the people gathered in mourning drove it home: They. Were. Children.
This is my country’s legacy - and it’s not history. The last schools closed during my lifetime. My Father went to school with students who lived at the local residential school, after it was changed to a boarding house (read: holding centre) for indigenous youth who went to local schools.
They were all children, injured, abused, and killed in my country’s attempt to erase them. I want the world to see this and hold the state accountable to *active* reconciliation> I mean we could at least truly adopt UNDRIP in action instead of words for god’s sake.
here you can read an article about a survivor of the church and some of the things he experienced to help put into perspective how awful and just how recent it was
this is the memorial at the vancouver art gallery. 215+ pairs of children’s shoes (as well as stuffed toys and flowers) cover the steps…
It's alive!
I've finished the cleaning and reassembly (minus that one screw). Spent the morning giving at a heavy coat of oil and cutting a new belt. It's still a bit sluggish but re oiling for the next couple days should take care of that. Overall super happy with the result. It makes a very satisfiying sound when it run!
Alright! That screw I needed came in and with some strong oiling it runs smooth and can stich now. I fixed the feed mechanism and it now adjusts stitch length properly, as well I adjusted the height of the needle rod and it now stiches as intended.
The only thing is it doesn't feed thread properly so the last thing I am still working out the amount of tension it needs/if the tension mechanism is busted? Not 100% sure what's next but I'm making progress. Truly the last hurdle I think 🤞
Fuck I’m at a fencing tournament and literally a minute after I reblogged this my dad told me that he talked to the point people and I’m probably going to win a medal.
BURN BAGEL BURN
OH WHY NOT?
I need to follow up to say I reblogged this last night, and this morning I got some of the best news of my life, like, a life dream come true news thing.
Bagel what are your powers
FUCK, I though it was just another lucky meme but LISTEN. Since a week ago I was waiting a phone call to confirm me if I got a job or not in my university. I reblogged this yesterday’s night “just for fun and because I don’t want any bagel to be mad with me”, and today’s afternoon, while I was losing my time as always, the professor I was supposed to work with called me and asked me for my personal information to start working with her.
THE BAGEL POWERS ARE WAY TOO MUCH FOR THIS WORLD
I GOT A JOB THE DAY AFTER MY QUEUE POSTED THIS THE FIRST TIME AND I JUST REALIZED IT WHEN I SAW IT AGAIN HOLY GOD
The bagel hasn’t let me down yet!
Let’s see what you can do bagel
learning to draw nature in ink for comics
As a student I had trouble drawing nature for comics. Sketching from reference helped, but I still couldn’t find the right level of pen & ink abstraction for water, vegetation, or natural phenomena. Careful underdrawing wasn’t enough to make the panels work. My eye was undeveloped.
Joe Kubert recommended I get some photos, xerox them at high contrast, then study the patterns that resulted. Sketching from these sharpened my instincts. You can do the same thing digitally with Threshold (Photoshop) or Binarization (Clip Studio.) Play with the slider for different densities.

What does it take to make African mythology real? Everything we had. Over 70% of our Kickstarter Backers came from Tumblr. Thank you. Now it's yours.

New Project
So because I don't have enough to do on the daily (sarcasm) I have decided to do my best to refurbish a 102 year old sewing machine for my girlfriend. Wish me luck. Or perhaps better. Wish me patience
Alright, going well. I've completed the disassembly with minimal damage to the machine (one or two scratchs to the paint and a couple screws are partially damaged but still workable).
I've cleaned and put together the the bottom rods that control the feet movement/stitch length and bobbin rotation. Couldn't clean everything because somestuff is too stuck, or just attached in a way that I'm not comfortable disassembling (pins). I'll do a before and after later!
I did have a bit of a panicked moment because I didn't delibrately remove the fork/rod that drives the feet. It jist kind of fell our and I couldn't figure how it was supposed to go in withought seizing the whole machine up. What I needed to do was put it back in and manually turn the internal part that this nob connects too. After unscrewing it it rotates much more and it controls the angle that rod moves at and by extention it's effective length. The position it's set at to install/remove the rod makes the piston too "long" and doesn't allow full rotation of the wheel/mainshaft.
I figured it out eventually and now have a better understanding of the full machine but for 2 days I thought I had fucked up the reinstall of the rods and couldn't figure out what was wrong
Alright cleaning and reassembly is almost complete with only one major blunder. The locking wheel had a bunch of paint taken off it when I used the brass brush on it. I was almost the same color as the solid steel peices but it was a silver paint that has sone rust poking through. I decided to clean off all the lose paint and as much rust as I could. Disappointed with my mistake but there's nothing I can do about it now. There also seems to be a screw missing on the presser bar (I'm almost certain it wasn't there when I disassembled it so I'll need buy a new one). Overall it's much cleaner though!

The links password protected for an hour for his mailing list subscribers (until 11am EST 6/12/26), but then the collection can be found here: https://www.studiotommy.co/collections
See, what’s fun about the new merch drop is that the Harrow shirt is this massive hoodie that covers collarbone to wrist:
And the cooler of the two Gideon shirts is this (a sleeveless muscle shirt):
And I just think that’s funky, fresh and in-character.

I myself have been homeless. Car camped. I can share a few things that can make that time easier.
This is a good good list that unfortunately a lot of people need right now.
Good tips. I can vouch for many of these. Here are a couple more that have worked for me (U.S.-based): - Get on food stamps before you are actually homeless, if you can. It’s just less complicated that way, but I have also had good luck just being very straightforward with DHS about my situation. - The article talks about not paying for storage – I really think your mileage may vary on that one. I paid for a cheap storage unit that I split with my sister for a couple years. If you really do have things of value that you want to keep, I say do it if you can find a cheap unit. ALSO, I have low-key stayed in my storage unit. You can’t do it for long, and depending on the place, it can be sketchy, but it can be done. - National parks and Forest Service campsites. Yeah there is definitely the whole day-use only thing but there are some that aren’t monitored. They often have bathrooms, and for me, it sometimes felt way safer being away from people. - Hook up with your local Food Not Bombs. It’s usually really good food and run by folks who are used to working outside the system. You might be able to make friends and score a place to live or stay. - When I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to afford rent for the foreseeable future, I bought myself a cheap travel trailer. 600 bucks and I’ve lived in it for almost five years now. Friends are way more likely to let you live indefinitely in their driveway or on their land than endlessly crashing on their couch. I do work-trade or pay what I can for utilities. If your car can’t haul it (mine can’t), rent a U-Haul truck for a day to get it where you need it to be. Obviously this requires some cash, but if you can swing it, it can really save your ass in the long run. - Make a plan for bad weather – heat waves and cold snaps can kill. Heat is worse for me where I live, so I make sure to have a list of spots I can escape to. This is where those national parks can sometimes come in handy, but also think about overpasses, city parks with lots of shade, abandoned buildings. Know where your local cooling/warming shelters are. Keep some money stashed away if you can to pay for cheap motel rooms during the worst weather. If you can split the cost of a room with friends, even better. - Have a few strategically stashed canisters of mace or pepper spray. - But at the same time, look out for each other. You don’t have to become bosom buddies with everyone else on the street, but treating each other like humans is both good for your mental and emotional health and also you’ll find that people are often really amazingly generous with their resources and knowledge.
Good advice. Storage is also one of those thing that a friend might be able to help you with. Cheap storage options are often damp or not as secure as you’d like. That might be a bad place to put your childhood photo albums, electronics, important paperwork, favorite dress, those expensive shoes you bought once… If a friend is willing to store a few boxes of stuff, at least you know those things are safe and dry.
etc.
