Sir Peter Scott (1909-1989) Swans by Floodlight
Shit man, this trojan war is fucked. I just saw a guy raise his hands to the sky and say “grey-eyed athena, strengthen my spear” or some similar shit, and he felled 27 men at once before being whisked away by divine mist. The narrator didn’t even mention him, that’s how common shit like this is. My ass is stuck with a bow and 2 arrows. I think I just heard “would to god my rage, my fury would drive me now to hack your flesh away and eat you raw” two groups over. I gotta get the fuck outta here.

Two of My Favorites Things Combined: A Surprising Commonalities Between Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton & Elizabeth Bennet 0f Pride and Prejudice
Besides sharing the first name, apparently Elizabeth Hamilton was very Elizabeth Bennet coded.
From Wikipedia:
She (Elizabeth Schuyler) was said to have been something of a tomboy when she was young (Desmond, Alice Curtis (1952). Alexander Hamilton's Wife: A Romance of the Hudson); throughout her life, she displayed both strong will and impulsiveness, both of which were noted by her acquaintances.
For her, happiness was summertime on horseback in the country, spending time outdoors, and learning how to build and manage an agricultural estate, skills at which she proved very capable. (https://www.nps.gov/articles/000/elizabeth-schuyler-hamilton.htm)
In 1779, Tench Tilghman met Schuyler and wrote the following: I was prepossessed in favor of the young Lady the moment I saw her. A Brunette with the most good natured lively dark eyes that I ever saw, which threw a beam of good temper and benevolence over her whole Countenance. Mr. Livingston informed me that I was not mistaken in my Conjecture that she was the finest tempered Girl in the World (Miller, John Chester (2003). Alexander Hamilton and the Growth of the New Nation.).
Eliza shocked Tench! They went to the Cohoes Falls in 1775 with some friends and she climbed the rocks in full 18th century dress–– something that seemed to scare and impress Tench. He wrote, "In contrast, he wrote that Elizabeth, "disdained all assistance, and made herself merry at the distress of the other ladies," easily making the trek on her own"(Memoir of Lieut. Col. Tench Tilghman, https://tile.loc.gov/storage-services/service/gdc/lhbcb/22944/22944.pdf).
Possibly what Elizabeth Bennet would have been like as old lady: When Elizabeth was in her eighties, she visited one of her sons, William Hamilton, who was living in Wisconsin, as part of a five-month steamboat trip in 1837. During this trip, she demonstrated her lifelong love of the outdoors with daily walks, defying the expectations of an elderly woman during that time period. She would return from her outdoor excursions with her clothes dewy and often holding wildflowers (https://www.zocalopublicsquare.org/eliza-hamiltons-excellent-five-month-steamboat-ride-from-new-york-to-wisconsin/). I can definitely see an octogenarian Elizabeth Bennet taking a transatlantic to visit a son in the hinterlands!
A couple of the small originals I will have in my art market booth next month :)
If you want to make your backyard a safe haven for lesser dragons, you must keep a close eye on your pets. While it is unlikely that a curious kitten will be able to cause a dragon physical harm, the egos of these small wyrms are as fragile as they are beautiful.

the other day i learned that taking a long time to fall asleep is called “sleep latency” which is just the funniest thing to me tbh
napping is easy because your brain is connecting to the Sleep Server at low traffic hours for your region.
when everyone is trying to get on the Sleep Server during high traffic hours, night in your region, the lag is at its worst and many people can’t even connect to the server at all that’s why falling asleep at night is hard thank you for coming to my ted talk
