They are almost treated as this ancient super advanced civilization, destroyed by a calamity aeons ago.

Except no. The calamity was 50 years ago and this was just a place for researching the weird substance they found in this backwater planet. From what i understand Coral technology wasn't widespread at all, it just had a lot of potential worth exploring.

They had advanced enough to create those divine weapons like the Ibis series and the Ice worm, could lift an entire city and use it as a ship, and their extraction plant reached into the stratosphere. And then they promptly exploded, and all that stuff looks incomprehensible to people just 50 years later.
