so for the longest time one of my favourite sukugo headcanon has been that Sukuna’s last finger that Gojo hid away is his ring finger.
it’s kinda implied in canon to me because the finger Yuuji fed to Rika so Yuuta could copy Shrine is his ring finger
-> Sukuna thought Rika ate his last finger instead -> Sukuna realized his mistake when he saw Yuuji’s own ring finger missing
-> if you read into it that’s very well could be an implication that that last finger he lacks is the fourth on left hand.
it just makes everything so poetic, right?? Gojo picking the most romantic holiday in Japan to fight Sukuna & try to reach him with love, all the while holding onto Sukuna’s vena amoris (vein of love) as the final trump card for his allies to bring him down, making the “love is the most twisted curse” / “only a curse can exorcise another curse” lines come full circle.
well, today I found out about a popular theory back then that this shot of Sukuna’s last finger could have been inspired by the MV of a song titled “Why have I never been in love?” by Sakurazaka46…
“Why haven't I been in love before? I've always made fun of it. Because everyone keeps saying "I love you". But after experiencing love, I realize. What do people live for? Meeting, loving, becoming one with each other. Finding my true self, not the one I'm pretending to be.”
like… hello?? is this not insane??
