Its been five years of it’s august and the flow of time still haunts me

the costuming in Hadestown is so insane. Orpheus standing out for his red bandana and whiteish shirt, Persephone standing out in her bright green summertime dress in a world that is otherwise so dark and dull. but then you ALSO have Hades's suit and Persephone's mourning dress standing out for how black they are - in a world that's otherwise so worn and faded, the gods wear pure pitch black right off the tailor's table. and don't even get me STARTED on the way red is used to highlight emotion and vulnerability

I just feel like we're not talking enough about the pro-labor, pro-union, themes in Hadestown. My boy Orpheus is literally wearing a red bandana. He said you simply have to stand up, together, even when it's terrifying and you have never done it before. There are more of us than them. Even if it seems impossible we have hope, because we are standing in solidarity. You can only make demands of gods if you have your union behind you. And then you realise they aren't gods, and you can bargain.

that scene in cap 2 when nick fury took that sharp turn and lost the fake cops after him and the gunshots subsided and his gps thing was like ‘getting you to a secure location’ and you really thought, you Really Thought!!!! he was Safe But then it got TOO quiet and fucking ominous music started playing in the background and the previously unfocused camera focused on this dude, decked in ALL Black, in the middle of the fucking street, holding a fucking Bazooka, and He BLOWS up furys suv, sees it coming straight for him, and takes ONE(1) nonchalant step to the Side???: UNPARALLELED 

#CA:TWS does a really good job of establishing characters’ competence BEFORE they tangle with the WS #Fury evades a coordinated death squad before the WS almost casually blows his car to shit #Steve takes out an entire elevator of STRIKE guys bare-handed before he fights the Soldier and barely holds his own #this also makes Pierce a FUCKLOAD scarier for being someone willing to slap the Soldier around #that movie did a really good job establishing characters’ skill/power levels by showing rather than telling #and they converted those insights directly into suspense in a way the MCU has never done again     (via galwednesday)
