CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ABOUT BISEXUALITY
that purple in the middle is not the right saturation, it doesn't fit with the other two colors and it drives me crazy.
all right, I think I got this, I've got dual citizenship and I have another flag we can borrow from:
step 1
step 2
step 3
This is true bi/ace solidarity.
holy shit
This is the only correct way
[Patchnotes]
swapped purple in bisexual and asexual flags for better saturation matching and color theory
they see him rolling and not a single person's hating bc he's adorable
so many people are saying Himmel was brave because the reason why he never confessed to Frieren was because he didn't want her to suffer the loss of a lover and... no!!!!!! That's not it!
First of all, Himmel confessed his love for Frieren basically in every way but verbally. He knows she's basically immortal and will understand what he meant every time he offered her a ring that symbolizes eternal love or said out loud and in her vicinity how jealous he was about some kid seeing under her skirt, even if it takes 30 years for her to connect the dots. And!!! Beyond that!!! Himmel knew Frieren was gonna fall in love with him when she went back in time and they had a shared dream illusion of marrying eacg other. So he spent many years of their journey together with this knowledge of the future: that she was gonna return his love, just too late. And same for Frieren: the marriage dream was basically a confirmation that Himmel loved her.
On the contrary, Himmel is making sure Frieren is being loved as much as possible, from his time alive to afterwards, with all the statues of him and the world he's saved for her to live in. Because Himmel is nothing if not attentive when it comes to Frieren, and he's noticed that she remembers the people she loved, even if she's bad at understanding that she's loving them.
So, no: Himmel didn't want to create distance to avoid breaking Frieren's heart. He was covering Frieren in a warm blanket of his love.
And the reason why he didn't confess is (probably) because he understands her enough to know she can't be rushed when it comes to her feelings. Literally can't.
And he's not pushing his feelings on Frieren also because he's not someone who sees love as transactional. Himmel is happy to give without expecting anything in return.
But all this to say: Himmel understands that time is different for Frieren. His sacrifice is knowing they are bound to love each other only after his death because of Frieren's elven emotions, and choosing to be content with this anyway, because that's just how much he loves her.
One of the things I really appreciate about Frieren is how easy it would have been to have made it about Himmel. A lesser writer could have so easily made Frieren’s journey with Stark and Fern about Himmel. It could have devolved into being just about a lost chance to realize she loved him.
Instead, the story stays centered on Frieren whohopes to see Himmel at the end of her journey yes, but she mostly wants to see how much capacity she has for change. It makes points throughout season 1 that Frieren has changed. She fights old monsters with new perspectives. She realizes her time isn’t solely her own anymore. She makes more of an effort to get to know the people in her life. Himmel might have been a big catalyst for her desire for self reflection and to see how much she can change, but the story is about her and her growth, not him.
I just think there’s something really special about something well written can show a woman having regrets about not pursuing a deeper relationship with a man and have it centered on the woman’s interiority and growth.
Watching season 1, I do not think that Frieren really believes she will see Himmel at the end. I think she hopes she will, but she does not expect it. Instead, I think she retraces the steps to see if she can do better this time and if she can grow more connected to the world around her and less apathetic.

Do you ever think about how Kurogane’s dad went to protect his loved ones and all that’s left of him was his arm, and then Kurogane immediately made the decision to cut his arm off to protect the one he loved
I watched the last Episode of the amazing Digital Circus, and the reviews on letterbox are just hateful. Don't worry i wont spoiler
I feel like people forget that this isnt a Show about superhumans or heroes. These characters are supposed to feel natural and human. They are characters like you and me. We all know a gangle or ragatha or jax.
I feel like people got so desensitized about stories. They expect things they saw a million times. Everything different is bad and boring and a let down and a personal attack for them. The media literacy is so bad.
I wont even start with the parasocial realationship problem. Disney is allowed to do so many dispicable crimes and yet people still buy merch. They are so ready to assault an Indie creator because there is no big no faced cooperation behind them.
People forget to watch things with open hearts and minds. They are just watching things to be hateful honestly. They are ready to see and shred things apart that took so much time, skill and heart to make.
I dont know about all the "controversies" but this is a project that made it from youtube to the silverscreen. This was unthinkable 10 years ago. Especially for such a Bright colorful cartoon. Its such a wonderful Step into the right Direction to give indie artists more possibilities.
Like gooseworx said, she just wanted to make a cartoon, but it got so blown out of proportion.
if Custas genuinely wanted to blow up the whole world after Silver Eve I would not blame him at all
I feel like we're going to see Custas go even more feral and reckless after this since he's sort of in a hopeless kind of state. It wouldn't surprise me if he tried to leave the Brimcaps OR dug his heels in and say something like: at least they didn't lie to me fully or that they were never real friends so it doesn't matter. Im realllly curious how Tartah being there is going to change things for Custas, especially now that Tartah has the truth magic BRANDING(my god this manga is insane) Custus might also trust him more cuz Tartah can help Custas figure out whats truth and whats a lie too.
There are so many ways this can go MAN THIS IS GOOOOD
incredibly rare fem chuuya appearance

FIELD TRIP! FIELD TRIP! FIELD TRIP!
It is kinda crazy that the best kept secret in all of miraculous has become the fact that Adrien is Chat Noir
Nobody other than Luka, Aeon (from the New York special) and Alix know. But they are mutual and Alix knows everything so we won't count them
But as for the other stuff?
Marinette's secret identity?
Kagami, Tomoe Tsurugi, Natalie, Gabriel Alya, Felix, Amelie all know. Hell in all technicality Lila also knows she just can't prove it
Gabriel being hawkmoth?
Marinette, Felix and Kagami know. Natalie, Tomoe Tsurugi and Amelie also know
The whole senti-being thing?
Kagami, Felix, Natalie, Amelie, Tomoe Tsurugi and Marinette
But the fact that Adrien is Chat noir?
Nobody who isn't supposed to. Literally nobody knows. Felix didn't figure that out did he? Hell Grand Master Shu Han doesn't know who he is.
Somehow we came so far and the best kept secret in the show is that Adrien is Chat Noir.

When I was a kid, maybe 14 or so (which is, you know, 20+ years ago), I belonged to a Yahoo! mailing list for an anime called Gundam Wing. It was mostly populated by other teens, of varying ages, as it was started by a teen and her friends. Eventually it migrated, when Yahoo! groups started as forums, and even branched off into non-GW related stuff in a second forum.
One of the things I remember the most clearly is the oldest person in the group. Her name was Steelsong. She was a 40-something Dom with a sub whose name we knew even though we knew nothing else. She ran her own fanfic archive because the web was still handmade HTML and navigated in webrings and I’m pretty sure Google didn’t exist or was only barely, barely launched and not well known. She was kind and patient and we loved her. She treated everyone on the group with the respect given any adult, even though most of the rest of the world was still treating us like we were children. Not teenagers even, but children. She never once condescended to any of us, never made our youth a barrier to her respect, never treated us like we were incapable of being full people or like we were less than her because we were young.
I remember that she hosted our fanfiction, as absolutely terrible as it was (and I still have some of it, I am WELL aware of how cringingly terrible it is, just absolute nonsense garbage), right there alongside of other fic that was soul-achingly beautiful. Not a separate section for her friends or for kids, just right there like we were good enough to feature alongside other authors. I never once received crit from her that I didn’t ask for, only support. Only love. I am still writing today partly because Steel was so kind about our fic, fanfic and original.
I remember that when I started doing clay sculpture, she commissioned a tiny pair of dragons from me, to support me doing artwork. She sent a check my mom cashed for me, and my mom helped me mail it when it was finished. It broke in transit, and Steel assured me that she mended it and that it was still beautiful. It was a small gold dragon curled up with a small silver dragon.
I remember that her patience knew no bounds. I remember that she was there for us, regardless of reason. When we wanted to know silly things like what to do with a single AA battery, she answered. When we had serious questions about sex, she answered. When we had questions about writing, she taught us. When one of our group members, a young gay teen in Australia, ended up in the hospital and then stopped making posts, and we all knew what had happened, she let us talk to her about it because we couldn’t go to our own parents, even though we had just lost a friend.
She was not a replacement to my parents, but she was an extra parent, in some ways. A friend, certainly, but someone that had been through more life than we had and was willing to pass on knowledge if we asked for it. Someone older that we trusted with things that were too uncomfortable to go to our parents or teachers or whatever about, because we already knew she wasn’t going to judge us or something, and that we would get an honest answer.
I don’t know why I’m remembering this so hard tonight, and I’m not sure if there’s a point to sharing this, except that I know she’s gone now. She was ill the last time we spoke, and her site went down a long time ago, and I miss her. She was a huge influence on my life, then and now. She was hope, for me, that life as an adult didn’t have to be boring, it wouldn’t have to mean giving up the things I loved and Becoming Only Responsible With No Fun. Her presence meant I had hope I could still write and play with friends even when I wasn’t ‘a kid’ anymore. And she’s gone, and I miss her, and I wanted to share her from the perspective of youth, and the perspective over twenty years later has provided me.
And I think of her, when people go off about older folks being in fandom with younger folks. I’m an older folks now, or at least middle aged folks because there are certainly folks older than me still, but I wasn’t always. I’ve been here since i was a younger folks, and I know how much Steel’s presence and support meant to me, how much she helped not just me but everyone on that group. And I think of the people saying older folks don’t belong in fandom, and that they shouldn’t interact with younger folks at all, and I just think… I can’t agree. I needed that kind of solid presence in my life back then and even at the age I am now, I need the folks older than me to stay. I want them here.
So I guess, like, if you’re here and you’re 40 or 50 or 60 or 70 or 80 or whatever, I want you here in fandom with me, still. Your presence here is a comfort. It is hope. It is a reminder that life will continue to be fun, even as I get older, myself. And if you’re younger and you have this sort of elder in your groups, I hope that they are like Steel. I hope they are kind and patient and supportive, and that knowing them gives you hope for your own future. I hope in twenty years you look back and remember them fondly.
*hugs you tight* fandom mother’s and grandmothers are important and how we keep and pass the Lore.
