But Shen Yuan is the older brother, by a good few years, who studied under Huan Hua palace. He finds out the palace master is a creep, moves out and become a royal cultivator at court. His family back home is doing fine, his baby brother is learning well but tends to be a bit spoiled - but that's a good thing! He knows this because of letters.

At least he thought so until he comes home and his baby brother isn't there. Worse, his baby brother's room in completely empty.

Turns out, Shen Yuan's mother, a greedy concubine, "lost" the child after his mother, the main wife, died. Because now Shen Yuan is the sole heir again, despite being a concubine's child. Shouldn't he be grateful for that?

Spoiler alert: He's not.

The winery is a frequent spot for league players bachelor parties, the owner being a former player and all and so Ilya knows that he will finally meet his idol, his teenage crush, his bisexual awakening.

So tipsy Ilya keeps inventing situations where the owner’s presence is needed. Someone breaks a glass, he searches Shane out to ask for a broom. Someone knocks over a bottle of booze, he goes to Shane to ask for paper towels, allegedly worried about ruining the hardwood floor. Someone spills some red wine on his fuckass leopard print shirt, he goes to Shane asking if he could borrow a tshirt.

So one of the guys decides to run away into the fields of grapevines, he asks Shane for a flashlight and maybe for help to find the man (the other guys are blasted drunk, Shane, im just gonna lose them in there too). Shane goes with him, no questions asked, and they talk and get on like a house on fire and suddenly Shane is like ok so what’s going on here? don’t fuck with me dude, i know there’s rumours about me but if you’re pulling some sort of weird prank on me we’re gonna have problems and Ilya is taken aback because maybe he’s more drunk than he thinks and he’s been coming off as some sort of homophobic jackass so he says well I have been trying to flirt with you all evening and Shane is just like hmm interesting

Confrontation (Jinlan City pt. 5 First | Prev)

SJ!Shen Qingqiu glares at him from behind his fan as he replies "Luo Binghe. This master thought he made your expulsion quite clear." Chibi!LBH opens his eyes as his expression drops into something more serious/dull as he says "I suppose you did."

Panel two has all characters drawn in chibi style. Two Huan Hua Palace disciples coming to LBH's defense with angered expressions. The male on the left says "Shixiong, don't worry. It's their loss!" Whilst the girl on the right continues "Cang Qiong doesn't know true talent!" LBH glances at them with a polite smile as he calms them "Thank you both, but there's no need." He then slightly flushes with closed eyes, a satisfied smile and brings a hand to his chest as he says "This one still has close ties to some of their disciples after all."

Panel three has LBH continuing as he gives a bright smug smile, a slight bit of red coming into his eyes as he says "Speaking of, Peak Lord Shen. How is A-Yuan?" Chibi!LBH looks with an amused questioning expression as SQQ brings his now closed fan to point threateningly at him. It then cuts to SQQ with a scowl, gritting out "You keep my son's name out of your mouth."

Panel four shows LBH nonchalantly using two fingers to brush the fan off to the side. He glances away as he says "I suppose I could always ask him myself. But I hear he's locked up on Qing Jing these days." Chibi!LBH expression darkens as he looks towards SQQ, pushing the fan further away. He questions, "That your doing?" SQQ, shaking with rage, pulls the fan back towards himself and responds "You know nothing."

Panel five has an off-screen Huan Hua disciple shout "Shixiong!" Seeing that this can become a bigger incident with too many prying eyes, Chibi!SQQ states "This master has overstayed his 'welcome' it seems." He turns away towards the exit, glaring over his shoulder as he warns "This Master gives you one warning. If you go near my son. It will not end well for you." It then shows SQQ leaving, showing that the sun is now setting. The two female disciples that Shen Yuan ran into eagerly run inside saying "Shixiong, you'll never believe who we saw!"

Panel six shows Chibi!SQQ back at the weapons shop. Mu Qingfang offers his greetings with " Ah Shen-Shixiong, you've returned." With a tired expression SQQ asks Mu-Shidi, Where is A-Yuan?" Chibi!MQF dressed in simple light green robes tied up at the bicep and with a handkerchief tied around his neck, presumably to use as a mask during his experimenting, responds "Upstairs. He turned in early. He must've been tired, it is his first night hunt after all." SQQ heads to the stairwell stating "This shixiong will go check on him."

well. perhaps you wont be pleased to hear this but unfortunately i dont think cliff is father of the year. hes not a deadbeat and he is paying child support on time for SURE but i really think he is seeing them on the weekends when no games and like maybe alternating weeks during the offseason. yes two different moms but probably both in boston and probably just girlfriends he knocked up when he was pretty young…no longer with either of them but coparents amicably with both.

and like in my mind theyre both boys and they have catholic ass names like peter and joseph and they have little mullet rat tails and theyre very badly behaved but they love their dad and thinks hes the coolest. but also cliff is like more of an uncle to them and less of a dad… LOL

crucially ilya does not know about these children until they’ve been playing together for several years. by the time ilya discovers their existence theyre probably like 9 and 12. i think his interactions with them are pretty limited but maybe like one summer when cliff and ilya are hanging out cliff has to take one of the kids on short notice and cliff is like fuckkk sorry man we can hang another time… and ilya is like.. eh what the hell. and they all play call of duty together and order a pizza and its the best weekend of little joeys life

one day hayden corner’s shane in his kitchen when him and ilya are over for dinner and ilya is distracted with the pike entourage of children and he’s like “dude rozanov is so obsessed with you it’s weird” and shane is all like “what are you talking about” and hayden exasperatingly explaining how ilya was texting jackie the night before making sure the food for dinner was macrobiotic diet friendly and that they had ginger ale on hand for shane and shane shrugs like what’s the matter with that and jackie comes into the kitchen after eavesdropping like “i think it’s sweet that his man wants him to be comfortable wherever they go” and hayden huffs and takes offense like apparently he isn’t doing that for jackie.

and then one day cliff marlow texts shane which is weird in of itself bc he never texts shane and is like “hollzy let go of roz’s leash for one night please” and shane is like what are you talking about and cliff responds “roz just dropped us to go home to you! we’re here one night only!” and shane is like “and?” and cliff just responds with the “🤦🏼‍♂️” emoji but shane doesn’t get it.

yuna pulls shane aside when they’re all having dinner at her house and goes “honey, I love you, and i want you to be comfortable obviously, but if you’re cold put a jacket on or im going to tie Ilya’s hands up if he keeps touching my thermostat.” And shane is like wait what and yuna just rolls her eyes and is like “how are you so oblivious, my god shane. he’s so whipped for you he keeps adjusting the temperature so it’s what you have it locked to at home. he’s obsessed with you being comfortable.” and shane will scrunch up his nose like “that’s a normal thing to do.” and yuna will shake her head and say “no baby that is something you do for someone who you love more than anything in the world”.
