Awwwwww. You have the audacity to cry about what Tommy said about Abby? lmao. Look at what Eddie put women through. And Eddie assaulted Buck, something Tommy never did. Go step in traffic, you dumb, hypocriticial bitch. IF every Buddie died, the world would be a better place.
this ask is officially a year old in 10 days so im releasing it from my ask box prison. like gremlins
no bc my opinion of tommy is he wants the easiest relationship possible and he really looked at the 118 crew and said “eddie is my best shot at getting laid” a canon gay man picked eddie first and ppl are saying eddie can’t possibly be queer or even queer coded….lowkey hilarious to me personally
I just. I've thought about this a lot off and on since I started watching the show, but god. I cannot stop laughing now, can you imagine Tommy's absolute bafflement and thought processes at the chain of events that followed the cruise rescue?
whoa hot guy who does muay thai and likes vehicles

chapter 8 is up!! it has been gruelling to write but i promise not to have a six month gap between updates again (i hope,,,,,,)
Eddie disappears into the kitchen, leaving them alone in the shadowy hall. Buck follows. Morgan stays in the living room, rooted to the spot. “Eddie?” Buck’s voice is hesitant, like he’s tip-toeing through an attic filled with mouse traps in the dark. One wrong move and someone will end up hurt. “What can I do?” “I’ve got it handled, Buck,” is Eddie’s gruff response. He sounds even worse than he looks, and there’s a clatter of dishes in the sink as one slips out of his hand. “I’m fine.” Footsteps. Then, much more softly, Buck says, “Eddie.” Morgan pictures him leaning in, laying a gentle, steady hand on Eddie’s shoulder. “I know you can handle it. Let me help you anyway.” The silence that settles over the kitchen is heavy. Stifling. Morgan finds herself retreating to the porch right as Eddie’s choked-off sob punctures the air like a gunshot.
read on ao3.
Eddie isn’t entirely sure what wakes him, but he lays there, staring up at the dark ceiling, listening to the heavy downpour falling outside.
It wasn’t a nightmare. The much he knows. But there is something nagging at him, preventing him from falling back asleep.
Sitting up, he tosses the blankets off and swings his feet over the side of bed. The chill of the late hour causes goosebumps to appear along his bare chest. Once he’s standing, Eddie grabs a hoodie and tugs it on, walking out of the bedroom.
A quick glance into Christopher’s room reassures Eddie that his son is sleeping soundly. So, that isn’t the issue either.
He heads down the hallway, the rain pounding down against the roof. It’s a nice white noise. Eddie always enjoyed storms. At least, until one almost took away something important.
He shakes his head, shoving that memory aware, stopping in the space between the hallway and living room.
Eddie still doesn’t know what woke him up.
A car passes by on the street, god knows why they’re driving in this weather at this time of night, but the headlights catch and reflect off of a vehicle in the driveway. A truck. Eddie still drives the Prius.
His feet carry him over to the door, where he unlocks it and twists the handle, pulling the door open.
Eddie finds Buck sitting on the front step, curls plastered to his head, dressed in nothing but a t shirt and sweats. His back is to Eddie, his arms curled around his knees, trying to make himself small.
“Buck.” Eddie whispers, stepping out of the house. The wind is tiny sharp pins of cold against his legs, his shorts not covering much. He can see the slight tremble of Buck’s shoulders. “You’re going to catch a cold.”
Still, Buck doesn’t move. Doesn’t react. Eddie worries briefly Buck has fallen asleep sitting there. He crouches down next to his best friend, a gentle hand laid on Buck’s shoulder. He’s so cold.
“Buck…?”
Finally, Buck turns his head, revealing to Eddie shattered blue eyes rimmed red. Tears and raindrops stain his pale face.
“He’s gone. He’s r-really gone.”
Eddie falls forward, arms wrapping around Buck’s sodden form, “I’m sorry.”
Buck gasps in a breath and then it’s like his strings are cut as he falls apart in Eddie’s arms.
Eddie had wondered when this would happen. Ever since Bobby’s death, Buck has been keeping up this facade of being alright. He hasn’t cried once. It’s been terrifying Eddie. Everyone knows how close Buck and Bobby were. How important the older man was to the younger. But Buck had shoved his grief aside, focusing on everyone else, not letting himself have a moment.
Now is that moment.
Eddie shivers a few minutes later when Buck’s sobs taper away into small hiccuping breaths. The rain is still falling heavily. Buck is soaked through.
“Come inside.”
“Okay.” Buck sniffles, pulling away from Eddie so the two can stand. As soon as they are though, Eddie reaches for Buck’s hand, slotting his fingers between Buck’s.
Eddie brings them both inside, locking the door behind them, and then he leads Buck through the darkened house to the bathroom.
The light makes them both squint and blink but it lets Eddie properly look at Buck. He’s as devastated looking as Eddie expected.
“Arms up.” Eddie murmurs, fingers curling around the hem of Buck’s dripping shirt. Silently, Buck does as told, eyes staring blankly over Eddie’s shoulder. The shirt is tossed to the floor, to be dealt with in the morning. Buck’s arms curl around himself as Eddie hooks his fingers into the waistband of Buck’s sweats, the light grey turned dark from the rain. Eddie pulls them down, kneeling as he goes, so he can steady Buck as he steps out of them. They join the shirt before Eddie stands, reaching for a towel and wrapping it around Buck.
Eddie’s hands move up and down Buck’s arms over the towel, trying to get some warmth back in the other man’s body. He grabs the comb next, giving the unruly curls a quick run through to get rid of any tangles.
Satisfied, Eddie flips the light off and guides Buck into the bedroom. He only turns on the lamp this time, leaving Buck standing there for a moment as he grabs some dry clothes for him.
The towel is tossed into the corner as Eddie helps Buck to get dressed, covering the chilled skin with warm cotton.
“Come on.” Eddie tells Buck, giving his hand a small tug towards the bed. Buck goes easily, sinking into the mattress.
Eddie climbs in after, shucking his hoodie and then flipping the lamp off. He pulls Buck closer, wrapping his arms and legs around as much of Buck as he can, trying to pass some warmth into the other man.
“I miss him.” Buck whispers into the dark a short while later. “I miss him so much.”
“I know, honey.”
“Does it get easier?”
Eddie takes a breath, thinking over the question. “Some days, yes. Other days, no. And you just have to deal with it unfortunately.”
Buck sniffles, turns his nose into the curve of Eddie’s neck. It’s still chilly. Eddie shivers but holds Buck tighter.
“I’m not okay.”
“I know.”
“Can I stay with you?”
“As long as you need.” Eddie tilts his head down, pressing a kiss to Buck’s crown. “Forever.”
It takes a while, but eventually, they manage to fall asleep, wrapped up in each other.

"Bobby Nash is still alive” I say into the mic.
The crowd boos. I begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks and commands silence from the room.
"She's right," they say. I look for the owner of the voice. It's Angela Bassett.
Scrolling through tumblr at a meeting and my work bestie was like “are those your 911 guys? I’m starting to recognize them” and I couldn’t even be like I swear it’s not my whole dash I like other stuff because in that instance. It was. My entire dash.

can't live the dreams you're spinning [On AO3]
Eddie's in a mood when he gets home.
Buck thinks he's trying to hide it, but it's honestly hard to tell the difference between Eddie genuinely trying to hide that he's pissed and Eddie quietly stewing while he looks for an opening to pick a fight.
Currently, they're clattering around the kitchen, putting groceries away, which feels unpleasantly like another night in this very same space, Eddie's tense shoulders and cut-glass profile, the way he's not meeting Buck's eyes. It makes Buck want to flinch and spit and pick a fight himself, which he hates. They never really used to fight. Being in a room with Eddie never used to feel like walking on rotten floorboards, just waiting for one to give way and send them both crashing down into ruin, but things have been weird between them since Eddie came back. Or maybe since he left for the first time. Maybe since Buck found the real estate listings on his tablet, or maybe even further back—maybe since he sat in the loft he doesn't live in anymore and told Eddie, it was a date, and watched his face go slack with shock for an unguarded instant before he mustered a response.
That means something, probably, but Buck's been trying not to think about it.

episode 6.12 “recovery” alternate version where instead of waiting for buck to come to him, eddie goes over to buck’s apartment and just stays there. they hang out and watch movies and exist in silence together, and maybe eddie is being a little clingy but he’s not forcing buck to talk about it. at night, eddie tries to take the couch but buck haltingly asks if they can share the bed because eddie wasn’t in his coma dream, so it would help. any time someone else shows up to check on buck, eddie answers the door and says “buck? oh he died, didn’t you hear?”
