The ones who were cheated on, abandoned, and neglected say this. The ones who were in dangerous accidents/disasters say this. The ones who were horrifyingly sexually abused say this. The ones who were brutally beaten say this. The ones who were psychologically tortured for decades say this. What does that tell you? That one of the typical side-effects of trauma is to make you believe that you are unworthy of care. 

Every single time you do something good, you’ve made a decision to make the world a little brighter.

Hello, UAF!

It is again this time of the year when to draw the line and summarize what stuff has happened in the past 12 months. Reference for previous 2014 and 2015.

What we got this year:

1.The big news in the beginning of the year was the announcement that “hey guys we may be in serious negotiations for TV series which may or may not happen but stay tuned”. And we stayed for several months. Still no idea what is going on there. Bu we had our little OMG moment at least this year (still better love story than Winter Dragon).

2. @uaf-events stepped up the game since the last year’s Secret Santa and this year they succeeded to organize two wonderful events - WOT BIG BANG 2016 and SECRET SANTA 2016 which showed off the amazing skills of the fandom again. I hope this tradition will continue on the next years.

3.Two artists caught the peak of fandom’s attention – @adamreadsthewheeloftime and @queen-serena. Their unique artistic choice of style to express their love for WOT and some character portraits that we saw for first time put them on the top of the game this year. It is great relief that the fandom still continue to show off new fresh artists and we keep receiving great pieces of art which has become instant classics. Honorable mention goes for one more extremely fresh artist – @aes-sedai-with-guns with their lovely absurd style and ideas.

4. @herenya-sedai and @neuxue continued to enlighten us with their wonderful meta thoughts with which we saw the series in a new light. Also we got fandom’s own @wheelofmeta blog.

5. Cards Against Randland has lived through a third wave of new worshippers and still going strong with extremely funny rounds and well spent fun time.

This time not so much controversies to worth mentioning in my opinion. Is this a good or bad sign? Is the UAF in doldrums waiting for the winds of 2017? :D The new TV series if it happens is going to give us plenty of debates, that is for sure.

and the story appears to be that two men who were having a conversation in Arabic were escorted off a Delta flight for not speaking English.

But, here’s the catch: one of them, the one who recorded the “aftermath” of them being escorted off the plane, is YouTuber Adam Saleh, who is a “YouTube prankster” by profession and is known for doing this kind of thing regularly, i.e. filming pranks on planes for clicks on YouTube. As it so happens, his most recent video was even within the last few days.
