aahhh i already answered this one, and it is hard to say without spoiling, but I am really hoping to write a sort of tender Christmas eve interlude between these two that involves smoking, contraband Christmas crackers, and (almost) kissing. Like UST so off the charts you will want to strangle me for it bad.

so these are all for my Slow Horses Jackson/Diana big bang fic...currently clocking in at 16k words! That's like...8 normal sized fics for me? It's the only thing I've really got cooking now

5. talk about the scene from a wip that you're most excited about

Ahhhh this is so hard to write without spoiling!! The scene I am most excited about is the scene I just wrote! I would say it is the emotional climax of the fic (the sexual climax will come later, pun intended) or at least a turning point from where the characters shift from being colleagues into something, em, less professional and decide they will be going undercover as a couple from now on.

6. if you were trying to recommend one of your wips to someone without giving any spoilers, what would you say?

Stefan voice: this fic has EVERYTHING. Flashbacks. Spies who want to fuck each other so bad it makes them look stupid. Classical music. Brutalist architecture. Strangers to Colleagues to Lovers to Frenemies to Lovers again. ANGST. Gratuitous train travel. Food porn. Actual Porn.

listen, i hate grogu as much as everyone else. But you CAN NOT let that spill over into hating baby yoda. Grogu is an annoying marketing gimmick from a blockbuster megacorporation. Baby Yoda is a LITERAL CHILD STAR being taken advantage of by basically every adult in his life. If you know anything about child stars you know how they're treated. We know from whistleblowers they're making him pull 12 hour filming days (again, as a LITERAL CHILD), and he's almost certainly not interacting with kids his age; they can do whatever they want to him because he doesn't have the experience to know any better. We already know they've got him on ozempic, god knows what the fuck else they have him on.

And before anyone brings it up, I DON'T CARE about how he acted at the met gala. He shouldn't have even been there in the first place, he's a child, of course he's going to act out, and he's been conditioned basically since birth to think that's okay because again. EVERY SINGLE ADULT IN HIS LIFE IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF HIM. He's literally the victim here and Disney is encouraging this. Until you all get a lot more youthlib i don't want to fucking hear your opinions on baby yoda.

Um. Okay. Wow. Cant believe I have to keep explaining this but "50 years old" is still an ACTUAL CHILD to Baby Yoda's species. Holding him to human developmental milestones and age standards is not only completely ridiculous and ignorant but it's also kinda bigoted, no offense?

And do not turn this around as me excusing the bluesky posts—no one is doing that. Obviously they were not okay, child or not, NO ONE should be saying that stuff. We arent saying "oh, he's just a little kid so it's fine, he has a free pass to do whatever," all were asking is for people to consider the greater context of WHY hes acting this way and lashing out and saying these things.

Like, the kid spends all day in front of a VFX screen being moved around by a stand in wearing a suit of armour—sometimes it's Pedro Pascal in that armor and I'm sure they have a great relationship but it isnt always. His whole life is faked and CGI'd in later.

Exploitation of child stars is already messed up, but it's just taken to a totally new level with Baby Yoda. He doesn't have the same protections as human kids and he's one of the last of his species, so you think he has parents looking out for him??? No one is.

You can hold him accountable and show compassion at the same time

I’ve seen a lot of (mostly straight) actors lately talking about how they don’t think they should play gay roles. As a queer person, my first response is ‘that’s stupid’, but then I think about queer actors being passed over for straight actors, that’s not okay, about does that mean gay actors can’t play straight? That’s stupid. Also what if I just really want to watch my favourite ladies kiss other ladies, and I have no goddam idea. What do the masses think? Reblog for reach?

one of my favorite this american life segments of late is about the people who played orchestra pit for phantom of the opera on broadway and how, like, a sizeable majority of them had literally been playing the show since it opened in 1988 (on broadway. I know it opened in 86 on the west end, you random pedants, but I am specifically talking about broadway musicians) because their contracts stipulated that they'd have jobs throughout the show's entire run... but nobody anticipated that phantom would become the longest-running broadway show of all time.

and none of these people wanted to walk away from a guaranteed job, so very few of them ever quit. they just kept doing the same show eight nights a week... for twenty or thirty years... and by the time it finally closed last year most of these musicians (who had been working together for DECADES) hated each other and really really fucking loathed phantom. I can't stop thinking about it. it's indescribably hellish to imagine but also the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life.
