There are 2 types of fanfic:
fanfic that I like
fanfic that is none of my business
bathe in your own sunlight !!!!!!
when i was a kid i was so mad all the time bc i thought someday i'd have to be somebody's wife i didn't know it was optional. is everybody reminding the young girls in their lives that it's optional.
AND SO IS BEING SOMEBODY'S MOTHERâźď¸
it is about being a woman. hope that helps!
reading comprehension questions for the notes:
is wanting to be a wife and mother a requirement for being a woman?
why might OP be annoyed with replies assuming that this post is about being aroace or transmasc if a woman doesnât want to be a wife or mother?
are there reasons unrelated to sexuality and romantic interest that might make a woman not want to be a wife or mother?
are there reasons unrelated to gender identity and expression that might make a woman not want to be a wife and mother?
core concept: what is gender essentialism?
is it gender essentialism to imply that all women inherently want to be wives and mothers? could this be what OP is critiquing?
look at the notes OP responds to. is it gender essentialism to imply that being a wife and mother is so affixed to womanhood that to not want to be those things means youâre incapable of sexual/romantic feelings, or not a woman?
what trait are you perpetuating when you assume that women who do not want to be wives and mothers must be aroace or trans? is it gender essentialism?

news about pcos today
Decades-long campaign powered by patient perspectives results in switch from PCOS â a name that caused confusion and undue suffering â to PM
a health policy paper has been published saying the name is officially updated to polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS)
polyendocrine= multiple endocrine factors
metabolic = affecting/affected by metabolism
ovarian = from the ovaries
essentially, instead of using the symptomatic term (many people with PMOS do not develop cysts) the new term widens the diagnostic area and makes it easier to diagnose, treat, and do research on people with PMOS (even atypical types, such as no cysts).
it may seem like a waste of time to change a name instead of focusing on research, but for a lot of medical professionals a name can be associated with a hard set collection of symptoms, so the name needs to change to acknowledge that the disorder is not well understood and has a broader, subtler, and often missed set of symptoms. for example ADD is considered an antiquated/unused term, and now comes under the ADHD umbrella. in healthcare names and terminology changes all the time, and this is a positive change. your local healthcare professional may not know about this unless theyre really up on the news though!
in case you want to read about the name change process that was published in the Lancet (one of the most impactful and well respected medical journals):
Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), previously named polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), affects one in eight women. However, the

I loved reading all your thoughts on Eddie not knowing and how weird he would be. What do you think could actually cause a realization for him? About his sexuality and/or his feelings for Buck
I go back and forth about whether he knows or not, but if he doesnât know, I have a hard time imagining what might actually make him realize things
yeah, that's the tricky thing, isn't it, lol.
like, part of the reason i'm so convinced that eddie doesn't know (besides it just being, to me, the only thing that makes sense in terms of what he actually says and does in the show - ryan's heart-eyes acting is through the roof, of course, but doesn't require much self-awareness on eddie's part) is that i think he just is not really examining his own feelings in any depth. partly, this is just his temperament; he's imo not a particularly introspective person by nature. a big part of it, though, is that he resists knowing himself because he's terrified of what he might find. it's not just the possibility of being queer and/or in love with buck that he's subconsciously afraid of - it's that he'll find some essential rot inside himself, something about him that means he's always doomed to ruin things.
(this is what's really at the root of his flat refusal to date in s9, imo - i just don't buy the read that it's a straightforward 'he doesn't want to date women because he's gay'. i think he's internalized the idea that pursuing a romantic relationship at all is going to end in catastrophe, and he's also not even that interested to start with, so why even try. his sexuality and feelings for buck might be a part of that, but imo not a conscious part)
buck could tell him, but buck is not going to come onto eddie as long as he thinks eddie is straight - and tbh, even if he has reason to suspect eddie isn't, he's not touching that unless eddie actually tells him he's not. the only way i could see him saying anything is in a 'clear the air' sense with no expectation of reciprocation, but even then, realistically, he knows that would make it weird between them and he doesn't want that.
i'm kind of partial to some kind of semi-accidental moment between him and buck that crosses a line he can no longer pretend is platonic - an almost-kiss that he suddenly realizes he wanted to happen (which i think might actually work better than an actual kiss, which he could blame on buck, lol). something along those lines. it could also just be a cumulative thing that he finally can't keep under wraps in his own head anymore. regardless of how it happens, it'd be a forcible rearranging of both his self-image and the tenor of one of his most stable relationships, so he'll be flailing a bit about it, imo.

Crazy thing about #healing #recovery Small Victories is when you'll have some shit going on that's like, saying this would involve admitting how you used to be doing. You know? Like hey guys good news I'm gonna change my bedsheets this year
That's the thing about Doing Really Bad you kinda keep it to yourself. And then you start doing a little better & when you try to tell people this the vibe is like "what do you mean you were living in the sewer this whole time are you good?" while you're standing there like Yeah that's not the important part never mind that. I'm literally out of the sewer
"He wouldn't say that" has a beautiful cousin, and her name is "That's Not What This Story is About".

Was at a cafĂŠ with an art exhibition today.
And there was an artist that had eight pieces, seven of which were decent photos and one of which was a photo with an ai background.
And i zeroed in on that ai piece so fast that I didnt even realize they were part of the same collection. Because not only was it ai, but compositon-wise it was much weaker than the others. Because of the AI background, I was aware of its other failures.
And then, because this one seemed so low-effort, I started questioning the legitimacy of his photos, which were perfectly fine and some of them i really liked. Like... not are these ai, but like... are they actually yours?
And then, because I spent so much time on this one guy's poorly composited AI piece, I forgot to enjoy the other artists on that wall.
When I was in art school, they told us that a collection is only as strong as its weakest piece, so when choosing your piece make sure they are a show of your best and that they work together. And I thought that was silly. But now that I see it in action im like... damn, it really does work that way sometimes.

They'll tell you, "Think small, hit the wall, don't you leave the doll house" - Del Water Gap
one of the most fucked up aspects of being an adult is really how life-goes-on everything is. like you can be dealing with the most fucked up trauma-drama-grief and still have to sleep and eat food to survive and like. poop. pooping while you're really sad shouldn't be a thing but it is. we don't have a say in the matter. life goes on
