I adore writing for characters who are old, like really old. I don't often get the chance to do it, which I guess is why I enjoy coming up with things for this guy to say. A lot can happen in 5000 years and he probably has a wealth of lived history that everyone else forgot or just never knew. Unfortunately, because he is one scary unit of a man, nobody will ever ask him about it. Least of all his Grand Regent, who considers him no more than a particularly effective attack dog.
That's why I like the scene pictured above: Conquest looking up at Thragg as he declares an end to the purge, and considering the cost/benefit of challenging him in battle. Like you can just see the gears turning: "Thragg, I don't care if you were specifically raised from birth to lead us, you are still a child to me. I remember our first and only emperor's coronation when you were not even a thought. I have quite literally forgotten more than you will ever learn. But... as much as you need correcting, I know what you're capable of, so I won't." -_-
If the Viltrumites were a little smarter and maybe less brainwashed, they might have made Conquest one of the Regent's advisors (in addition to being the resident annihilator-on-duty). He claims he's "capable of so much more"? Bore your Regent to death with old war stories and first-hand knowledge of the many civilizations he's brought to heel until maybe Thragg learns something. It might help Conq feel less lonely, even if regents seldom learn anything. :P

just looked it up. holy fuck. they did it by de-duplicating assets. I'm just. my jaw is on the floor. supposedly duplicating assets helps load times on HDDs but. holy fuck at what cost
it's worse than that: The Helldivers devs were told that duplicating assets would help HDD load times, but then they actually tested it and it had basically zero effect on load times!
So they had more than sextupled the size of their game by following industry standard practice that actually did basically nothing!
