i don't really care what your personal american feelings are on homeschooling. you have to understand that it's a system that further empowers parents to own their children's lives and behavior. It generates abuse by enabling parents to cut off contact for the child with other children and adults. homeschooling must be understood as a type of grooming, potentially.
#(pt2)#whatever I wanted as long as I got it all done. so I got a part time job at 14 and worked in customer service. I learned how to talk to#adults. I grew my savings. I learned how to type emails and talk on the phone and be professional.#I know more about astronomy because my parents let me have that as my science.#I can type on the computer and well because my dad made sure I could and I thank him for it to this day#I have a great relationship with my siblings because of how much time we were together and how much extra time we had to just play together#there's good and bad to my homeschool situation. if parents hearts are not in the right place and they don't prepare and they don't know#what they are doing then yes homeschool is bad. it only works if parents give it 110% and make sure their child is getting everything they#need as a growing human being. which includes knowledge of topics like sex and politics and different family situations and how to navigate#social situations and difficult friendships#I wouldn't call my parents actions in homeschooling me abuse personally. never have. but I do think it could have been done differently.
