you see, we're not pretending anything, because many of us argentinians, including racialized argentinians, including jewish argentinians were getting anon after anon calling us nazis, telling us we descend from nazis, telling people that their grandparents who were holocaust refugees were actually nazis, and many others all over different social media platforms were making similar comments, or jokes like "never ask an argentinian what their grandparents were doing during the 1930s and the 1940s". and yes, this was indeed an excuse to be xenophobic, racist and antisemitic towards us. not a word about operation paperclip, right? no smokescreen here.
the reason we keep having waves of far-right governments in latin america is precisely because the imperial core backs and installs them, using propaganda and straight out direct intervention, and whenever we have leftist or left-leaning governments suddenly we get dictatorships/invasions/bombings/made-up charges to put politicians in prison so the right wingers can win.
