I like that there's such a dynamic change in Cornelius from childhood to fatherhood that you can see his kid is visibly surprised by how he acts as a 12 year old. He says "keep moving forward", parroting his dad's mantra at his dad as a child, and is surprised when Cornelius reacts angrily and volatile. Not only rejecting his own guiding phrase, but showing an emotional instability that I think Wilbur may not have ever seen in his dad before.
