also it cannot be quite expressed how wrong I was in my excitement over this book because of the premise. I should know by now that what gets set up in the beginning is *neverrr* the way the mission actually goes, at least after Mauritius I should know that! Yet I whose first maritime history love was in fact Bounty herself could not help but be impossibly excited at the prospect of getting to intersect with Breadfruit Bligh himself with Tom Pullings my favorite along for the ride and espionage shenanigans happening in between. Though the espionage shenanigans have been more than I could have ever dreamed there is in fact no Tom Pullings and no Bounty of any kind. At least there is Killick and his toasted cheese and the evident love everyone has for Jack Aubrey. And Mrs Wogan and Herapath who I lowkey have such a disdain for like.. get away from her you're a creep and she deserves better than this shipful of men who are always two seconds away from being indecorous literally just because she laughed. MRS WOGAN I WILL SAVE YOU!!
