Not to be all "I was born in the wrong generation" but fuck I would've been such a good boomer. I'd get some office job, learn shorthand, be a typist; maybe I'd be an investigative journalist. I'd be a situationist, I'd admire and create op art, I'd holiday in Yugoslavia, I'd make graphic design with letrasets, perhaps would have attended a polytechnic. I'd keep an eye on the space race, have a framed picture of Yuri Gagarin on my wall, watch Star Trek as it aired (and make early fanzines) - I'd participate in the student movement, protest the Vietnam war, participate in the labour party and strong union movement... have a hope we'd win the cold war. I'd love and use the same tech I do now (tape recorders, record player, darkroom, super 8, typewriter, sewing machine, teasmade, rollers and hood dryers, CRTs, etc etc): hobbies like analogue photography and sewing would be more affordable, even. I'd get into Krautrock and Kraftwerk and could see their early gigs, I'd go to discothèques and cafés, I'd smoke cheap cigarettes and drink cheap ale. I'd drop acid, and I'd go to the cinema all the time - the films would be worth watching, and all on film.
