Well, there are many ways to make comics u know!

first, you need to have a clear idea about why you wanna tell in that comic.

which is your concept? What kind of feelings do you want to represent with your characters? what’s going to happen between them? like, there are many questions that you need to answer for yourself first.

There are many types of comics, formats to be specific, I like the format of the picture book, others use the usual -comic pages- with frames, etc. I like the picture book style because in my case, I just need one pict to make a whole situation and there’s no need to make a lot of frames for it, sometimes it’s necessary but for me, I work better in that way! also, that helps to not get the spectator confused to move their eyes to every frame, just one pict can be enough! and that’s how -picture book- style is for.

You need to make a script!!!! Highly recommended

In my situation, sometimes I don’t make scripts because when an idea pops out from my mind, I’m fast to doodle it and then I can structure it and clean it. But I also make scripts when the story needs it (that helps you to not forget about important things)

Mostly because I was in such a bad place, I felt like the OP was just…. lying. If that makes sense.

LYING that it’s ok to keep going. That’s ok to not be the best but keep going anyway. That your art can be worthwhile. That “You are a good artist too”. And as such I really lashed out on this post (my reply is buried somewhere in the notes)

I don’t know if I’m in a better place with my art or not. Perhaps in some ways I’m in a worse place about my art right now. But at least now I’m looking at this post the way it was intended… as encouraging, and that it’s a message not to give up. Even when every 22 year old is posting fully animated shorts done in their student versions of Toonboom and creating things effortlessly.

There are two different types of nostalgia. 

Restorative nostalgia is when you feel like things used to be better and you long to relive the past, and reflective nostalgia is when you feel wistful about how different things used to be, but you maintain a sense of amused acceptance.
