im a trans woman and im on oestrogen. im at that stage where i have a mix of stereotypically masc and stereotypically fem features (i have a bit of a chest, a sharp jawline, long hair, lots of leg/arm hair, ect ect). i was talking in a discord server (they knew i was trans, but didnt know what kind) and i posted a selfie, only to have several people come at me for my appearance. they said i was clearly a confused woman, that i was destroying my body with testosterone, that i probably was prettier as a woman (well i am because im actually happy now that im a woman, but thats besides the point), and they were saying a bunch of slurs against trans men/transmascs that i wont type since i cant reclaim them. it really shocked me how comfortable they were doing that, all because they thought i was a trans guy.

This is absolutely transandrophobia.

It's blantantly obvious hate in this case. But in many (or most. I don't know If I'm giving undeserved benefit of the doubt. I'm feeling charitable) cases, the queer community has these progressive ideas but ideas is all they are. Unfortunately, we still live in a patriarcal, transphobic society where the concept of two genders is what's widely considered normal, and there is bias subconcious or otherwise. Having subconcious bias isn't neccessarily bad, nobody is perfect and I'm unlearning things every day. The issue comes when there's no aknoledgment of those biases instilled in us by the society we grew up in and no active effort to unlearn it. For example, I've met transphobic enbies, where in their case they haven't really deconstructed the gender binary but only expanded it to include a third gender.
