She then proceeded to look at the fashion magazines over the course of the year the game happens in, proving that excuse false. I was bored and started to look through all of the Personas used by the main cast and realized that Naoto is literally one of the only Persona users whose Persona does not match their official gender. Like, every girl Persona user has a female Persona based off a female historical figure or goddess and the opposite for the boy Persona users.

However, both of Naoto's Persona break from this pattern. Both Sukuna-Hikona and Yamato-Takeru are referred to as males.

The only other character, and I do mean the only other character, to have a Persona of a different official gender to them is Ken Amada of all people, having Nemesis and Kala-Nemi (who is actually split between being a god or goddess in Hindu lore [or whatever the actual term for god/goddess is in Hindu I could be wrong and they are completely different people])

Now, I'm not going to say that this means Naoto is a trans man...but he does have two male warrior figures as personifications of his psyche to use in combat in a series that has always tied that to a character's gender. As for Ken...maybe they need to look into that a bit more.

It's always a bit funny to me how people notice this every couple months or so, and then literally nobody remembers any of the other times people have brought this up. Usually, it involves someone pointing out one, while ignoring the other, but it's nice to see a post that acknowledges both characters.

We need to stop worrying about being "considerate" to people who do these things, and actually work to make fandom spaces less enjoyable for racists. If you ever wandered into a fandom that was hostile towards minorities and wondered how to make it less hostile, that's the answer. Use their weapons against them. They harass black, queer, or disabled creators off the platform or out of the fandom? Show them the consequences for mistreating people. Make them leave, so that there can be at least a few spaces that are actually safe for minorities to be in.

Personally, I think more people who saw it should be posting untagged spoilers to the last episode of TADC so:

1. Ticket sales and watch numbers go down

2. The people who choose to support Gooseworx and the cast despite, or even because of, their open racism will have a worse experience

3. We send the message that we do not provide a safe space for people who would defend or support racists

Sorry, is this "vague" post about me reblogging a post about Naoto from P4 being transmasc? Either way, your transandrophobic rhetoric is foolish and transparent. Many reasons make it so, such as the "fact" you're presenting being blatantly untrue, the complete unwillingness to acknowledge that those who do hold many transmasc headcanons do so because of the complete and utter lack of actual representation in any form of media, the fact you view even having transmasc headcanons as inherently oppositional to the very concept of transfemininity, and the fact that in your "vague" posting you completely left out the following reblog of art that I requested of a character being depicted as transfem that I loved so much it is now my blog header and phone wallpaper. the post wasn't about you at all. i think you're fine and great. it was about people who ONLY headcanon characters as transmasc and NEVER anyone as transfem. which in my experience is worryingly common. which IS transmisogynistic. simply having transmasc headcanons on its own isn't and is perfectly fine, even good. i'm sorry for wording it in a way that hurt you (which is 100% my fault i should've worded it better). i should've made it more clear what i meant and left off the vagueposting part.

also i don't even think the mutual themself was being malicious either, i was mad about the person they reblogged from because they seemed passively transmisogynistic, which i'm pretty sure the mutual missed. (i'm not even sure if i was right about that in hindsight. that is another reason that i should've left off the vagueposting tag and i apologize for that as well) i probably should've just dmed the mutual to let them know my concerns in the moment in hindsight rather than doing this which. does not really help anyone. and i apologize for not doing that instead

Thank you, and I'm also sorry. I stand by the analysis of the rhetoric I perceived, and how without the context it did appear (it isn't, but it appeared to be) somewhat transandrophobic due to it creating a(n assumedly unintentional) false dichotomy between transmasc and transfem interpretations of characters, as well as how it started off with the extremely loaded phrase of "you people". However I now know it was unintentional and I apologize for how aggressively I approached your statement. Especially since you actually recognized how it came off, reflected on why you made and worded the post the way you did, further identified how you could've responded more appropriately, apologized for the even accidental use of the offensive rhetoric, and chose to try and do better in the future.

I'll fully admit that I did mean to be aggressive in how I responded, not because I wanted to start a conflict, but because I have an extremely low tolerance for what I thought this was, and because I get really sick of people coddling the feelings of people who say shit like what I thought you were saying, since I have to deal with people coddling the fascists (they actually do the salute) at my school whenever I call them out racist/sexist/transphobic/homophobic/antisemitic/any of that other shit they copied from mein kampf.
