Got misgendered (as usual) in a grocery store by a kid, and that made me think a bit.
The thing about misgendering is that it's not people being wrong or doing an oopsie like i have G cups.
If you refer yourself to my tits it's pretty easy to figure out that i'm not a guy, and that's the thing like people call me sir they aren't being like. Ah Yes of course a Man (on account of the G cup tits. they're hard to miss)
Like when they see me they see a tranny, and their brain rings the Tranny alarm, and that's why they call me a man. because they know i'm not one and that upsets them because they think i'm supposed to be one.
Anyway yeah, i think thats the thing to remember about getting misgendered, like, a lot of the time, people know. People know, and they're doing it Because they know, because when they see a beautiful girl that's a little clockable, they can only see someone trying to Trick them into seeing a woman when it's actually a man (perhaps even one could say a trap).
I think it's important to remember that it's a purposeful act, both politically and personally, I think it helps to remember that they don't see a guy when they look at you. They see the tgirl that you are and that's what makes them upset.
Remember that when they treat you like that it's because you're what you wanted to be, and it makes them fucking pissed.

Autumn Hill left a Prairieland ICE facility protest before it turned violent. She was still sentenced to 50 years as part of Trump's war on
They're sending a trans woman to prison for life over the fact that she attended an anti-ICE protest where a cop died (she had already left the protest when the 'violence' started)
To transfems who are just beginning to transition: you are (probably) not butch. The fact that you still wear masculine clothing and still look in the mirror and see a guy does not make you butch, it makes you trans. If you hate how you look, if you hate your masculine features, you are dysphoric, not butch. I stress this not only because I want you to not get trapped trying to settle on aiming for a butch look, (which is much less attainable than you'd think for reasons I'll get to) I want you to go explore femininity in all of its pink frilly euphoria. You'll figure out your style in time, but not if you keep trying to settle on what you incorrectly feel is a more realistic goal. Butch fashion standards were not created for transfems. In fact they were created specifically to exclude you. Most of what being butch entails is having a "feminine body" (read: afab) in men's clothing. Butchness was invented to create an alternative for women to the demonized feminine modes of expressing themselves. It is fundamentally about women being anti-feminine. This can be liberatory for people who have femininity enforced upon them, but that is not you. You, early transition transfem, will be pressured to be butch, you will be pressured to be masculine, you will be pressured to do anything other than transition. You must resist that pressure. You must transition.
This post is about you actually, you don't look ugly in femme clothes, that's the dysphoria talking. It will take effort, but figuring out how to style and how to dress femme will make you significantly happier.

not to be like that but misgendering is still misgendering even if you think you know someoneâs gender better than they do. because thatâs the basis of literally all misgendering you donât get a special pass because youâre Transing Them
Right, because the torture nexus that was built to torment trans women is big and scary and we wouldn't want any ACTUAL people to have to go through thinking about it.
they should make it easier to get bottom surgery
special mention to how the BMI requirements are horrific and they need to go!
I've been thinking a lot lately about how many trans women I've known who come to realize over time that they experience much more bottom dysphoria than they've consciously understood
I think this is partially a problem of trans women being fetishized, a trans woman's value being equated with her penis, but I think it's also partially a problem of availability. personally if something is difficult to attain then I have an internal reflex to unconsciously convince myself I don't want or need it. for this reason and many others it needs to be made easier

Indigenous lands are crucial for climate mitigation and resilience. Research shows their health is a direct result of Indigenous stewardship
While this isn't news to anyone who works in this space, it is useful to have this water-is-wet research to affirm that Indigenous knowledge and land management are extremely effective at storing carbon and protecting biodiversity.
I want to draw special attention to this part of the article:
New research shows that approach overlooks the key role that Indigenous knowledge and culture can play in mitigating climate change. It also reveals a dangerous misconception that has taken hold in global climate discussions: the idea that Indigenous lands are so rich because they are remote or sparsely populated. Nothing could be further from the truth. The health of Indigenous lands and their ability to store vast quantities of carbon stem from the stewardship of the people who inhabit them.
I'm actually bringing this back around to say another important thing.
I get a fair number of asks and comments on my posts expressing sentiments like "human beings are a plague on this Earth", "humans ruin everything, we deserve to be wiped out", "humanity is inherently selfish, evil, and irredeemable".
I don't think the folks saying these things have bad intentions, I know their words come from a place of very understandable pain, fear, and anger. But to act as though humanity's impact on nature is inherently damaging and extractive is to erase thousands of years of Indigenous stewardship of nature. These ecosystems are thriving because there are humans living there.
This is your regular reminder that you don't need to feel guilty for being a human. You are part of nature--viewing humans as inherently separate from the rest of nature is actually part of the problem. You will be so much better served redirecting that guilt into supporting the humans who are helping nature or resisting those who are hurting it.
Supposed "free thinkers" when there is a lot of wind.

Last summer, writes the architect and human rights investigator Eyal Weizman, the Strip was blanketed with âenormous dust clouds containing particles of the different materials that formed the building[s] and [their] environmentâconcrete, plaster, paint, glass, metal, sand, soilâsome of which are synthetic and toxic.â The dust âcovered everybodyâs skin, eyes, mouths, nostrils, it was present in food and water, and also covered the entire ground like a new layer of topsoil.â In the decades to come, an epidemic of cancer, lung disease, and brain damage caused by this fallout could come to rival in lethality the warâs bombs and bullets.

i go on bluesky until the liberals piss me off, i go on tumblr until the communists piss me off, i go on twitter until the bitchy reactionary girls and gays piss me off
bluesky post: we need to stick it to the DICKtator in chief by funding my new ttrpg zine
tumblr post: sexual assault is only traumatic if you have a puritanical view of sex
twitter post: sorry if this isnt woke but the fat dolls are lowkey not serving
it used to be that âfascism is aesthetics as politicsâ was the sort of thing that took several steps to demonstrate, but now everyone in roman-column twitter says âmy ideal world is this AI generated picture of a centurion driving a spaceshipâ and you donât even have to draw any connections to anything they just say it out loud.
