I’m right-handed, so I acknowledge I overreacted somewhat. He’s always made it clear he hates distractions and I do recognize it was wrong of me to neglect to have my phone nearby in case of an emergency despite being aware he was playing. I acted on impulse, I know, and easily could’ve got myself downstairs unaided to call since my legs were fine. I’ve said it won’t happen again and I do mean that. He says he’s mostly forgiven me, though he’s now requested I keep my arm hidden under a blanket because seeing my bandages and thinking of my missing finger gives him panic attacks and nightmares related to being unable to play video games.
