You know, I want to write, but I am unsure as to what exactly I should attempt to shake off the rust with. I've been rattling a number of ideas around in my head over the years; a particularly prominent concept is a number of MLP AUs. Lately, tho, one is starting to take particular precedence; since I've been drawing him a lot, I've been poking and prodding at the idea of a Cyan-centric displacement story. The trouble is that I have no concrete ideas as to a plot; just very basic, very minimal slice of life-type ideas, maybe loosely following the events of the show, starting from sometime before it. Part of the problem is rewatching at least the first few seasons of the show, which, while comparatively more tolerable than the later seasons, is still something I've not much interest in at all... Also, I never finished my KJ rewatch. Tho that's less relevant, since it'd be set... idk, maybe sometime after it? Or maybe in between the second and third seasons. And I'd probably be going plenty off the reservation as far as that plot goes. idk, Cyan's such an interesting character that canon doesn't really explore very much at all outside of a bit of plot relevance, or as a joke (barring that one mini-comic, which doesn't have an English translation- which is a shame, bc it implies that he and Rose are orphans, and I'd like to know the specifics of that). Granted, being primarily a comedic adventure series for ten-year-olds, there isn't much that the series does take seriously or go into depth on. I'd like to explore him more as a character, and this seems to me like an interesting way to do that.
